Self Portrait

Artist Statement:

This piece uses graphite to recreate a photo-realistic image of my face. I used the "square by square" method to make sure that it is proportional to my photo that this is based on, it is a 1x1 proportion. I used a variety of shades of graphite to get the version two to look more realistic, whereas the first one only used one pencil shade. In the future, I would add even more detail and shades to make it more realistic.
