We want boarders to feel comfortable in the boarding and we maintain a homely atmosphere. Nonetheless, students should look after their belongings responsibly and remember to always lock their room door when they leave their room. We strongly recommend that valuables are left at home as we cannot be responsible for them and students are understandably upset if something goes missing or is broken. The College’s insurance policies do not cover the personal effects of boarders and where appropriate private arrangements should be made. Boarders often bring mobile phones and laptops so it is a very good idea to make sure these items are insured and clearly identifiable.
To avoid upset, boarders must not swap or sell personal items, neither lend nor borrow other items or lend money either amongst themselves or with day students.
If you lose or find anything, please go to the nearest admin office to report it or hand something in; alternatively, see one of the boarding staff in the evening for help.
