Year 12 Subject List
At Year 12, students should have planned a pathway to fulfil the 200 credit requirement to gain their SACE. More details are on the Home page of this website, but in summary:
The compulsory elements of the SACE require a passing grade of C- or higher. These subjects are:
Exploring Identities and Futures at Stage 1 worth 10 credits. In 2024 the EIF will replace the PLP
Literacy (range of English/English as a Second Language subjects) x 20 Credits Stage 1 or 2
Numeracy (range of Mathematics subjects) x 10 Credits Stage 1 or 2
Research Project x 10 Credits Stage 2
3 Stage 2 subjects x 60 Credits Stage 2
The remaining 90 credits required to gain the SACE will be chosen from a wide range of subjects and courses and can come from either Stage 1 or Stage 2.
Year 12 students complete up to 5 subjects from the list below. All subjects are full year subjects unless otherwise indicated.
English: English, English as an Additional Language (EAL), English Literary Studies, Essential English
Mathematics: Essential Mathematics, General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics
Global Studies: Ancient Studies, Business Innovation, Geography, Legal Studies, Modern History, Society and Culture, Tourism
Health and Physical Education (HPE): Health, Outdoor Education, Physical Education, Sports Academy: Volleyball, Sport Science (Scientific Studies)
Arts: Creative Arts: Film Making and Production Events, Creative Arts: Visual Arts, Dance, Drama, Music, Visual Arts: Art, Visual Arts: Design
Technologies: Automotive Technology, Child Studies, Computing and Creative Industries, Construction Skills Pathway (Cross-Disciplinary Studies), Digital Photography, Food and Hospitality, Hospitality Skills (Integrated Learning), Innovators Academy - STEM, Metalwork, Robotics and Electronics, Woodwork, Workplace Practices
Languages: French Beginners, French Continuers, German Beginners, German Continuers, Japanese Beginners, Japanese Continuers
