In order to promote physical fitness for both the health of the crew and improved mission-readiness, crew-members are encouraged to maintain a minimum level of physical fitness. This level is measured by using a standard test.
The test is administered by the Medical Department, and may either be conducted in person, or submitted recorded data online. Passing the test counts towards rank promotions below the grade of O-5.
This test is adapted from the PFT of the United States Marine Corps.
Consists of three activities: Pull-ups, Abdominal Crunches and a 5km run.
Pull-ups/Push-Ups: Success or failure is determined by how many pull-ups or push-ups you can complete in one sitting. There is no time-limit.
Abdominal Crunches: Success or failure is determined by the number of crunches you can do in the 2-minute time limit.
5km Run: Success or failure is determined by how long it takes to complete the run.
These activities must be completed within 24 hours of each other.
Minimum requirements to pass the test:
Use your Perscan or PADD to log yourself performing the above tasks. Then post screenshots of the logs in the #gym channel in the Dauntless Discord server. Once verified by the Chief Medical Officer, you will be credited with completion and awarded a certificate.
The certification expires after 12 months. In order to maintain your PFT certification you will have to reapply at least once every 12 months.
