Decide on where you want your signs should be for. The can be real or imaginary. If your place has a specific font Like the ones in my example then you might want to practise them first.

On your paper, draw large rectangles across the width of the paper. Make one sid point in a direction.

Lightly draw in the name of the place you want in each rectangle. Once you have them the way you like them, either ink them with a pen or darken the lines with your pencil. Remember do this with the lines you want to keep and erase the ones you want to get rid of.

Colour the signs with the colours you thinks are the best.
