13 T shirt Design Challenge

T shird Design Challenge

On a piece of paper, start to brainstorn some ideas for what you would like to put on a t shirt. It is important you practice the ideas so that if at some point you put the on a shirt it is easier for you to do so.

Come up with an interesting idea. I have always wanted a Rick and Morty hoodie, but didn't want one that was inipropriate for school.

I practiced the idea a few times and then i did a full sized drawing of it on paper incuding painting it with the appropriate colours.

From there I got a really soft pencil and streached the front of my 20 dollar(Walmart) hoodie over a painting board. I used the soft pencil to draw my design, don't worry, the pencil washes out, so if you mess up, just wash it.

Once I had the drawing the way I wanted it, I slowly started painting with fabric paint the different colours one at a time and allowing them to dry before I started the next colour.

If you have a shirt and fabric paints at home you can do the second part of the challenge, if not, create your design and next year we can do the second part in class.

Below are some other examples of tshirts i have created recently.
