Below you will find some of the basic brushwork you might use in a water colour painting. Try them all.

Wet your paper and then apply paint to the surface to was colour in large areas.

Apply one colour and then while it is wet apply another colour net to or on top of to blend the colours together.
Wet on Dry

Apply paint on to dry paint or dry paper to achieve a mor precise line or shape.
Dry Brush
Dry Brush
Mix or choose you colour and then with a dry brish spread the bristles of the brush out and then get the colour just on the tip of the brush. Apply the colour to dry paper in a dabbing motion. Great for leaves.
The Resist
The Resist
Apply wax crayon or tape to dry paper. Paint over top of it, and after remove the crayon or tape to reveal clean paper.
