Today is Catch Up Day. Students have been individually emailed their work to complete by 9:30am tomorrow. The also had Homeroom Check in where they completed a survey for DIFI and attended their very first Online Awards Ceremony.

Today is the Grade 12 celebration at 12 noon. We will share later a link to a recording of this ceremony.

I hope you all enjoyed the Family Day activities yesterday. It was nice to see so many varied pictures of crafts, cooking, game playing and above all else fun!

Students are getting excited for our Family Day tomorrow. Please see further details in the Panther's Roar Newsletter. There will be no normal classes tomorrow instead there will only be catch up or Family Day activities for you to do together as a family.

Eco-schools habits and actions at home
Who: students from eco-committee
Goal: encourage people to be more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint at home.
When: 4th May,2020 @ 11:00 am
What’s required: share a max. of 4 slides about what habits and actions you adapted from the eco-schools program and applied at home. Each students will talk for 10 minutes.
Ms. Preet is available to help any students who are interested.

Today is the middle of the week and the busiest day for Grade 6 with four subjects to complete: Maths, Arabic, Islamic Studies/Cultural Studies and Performing Arts.
Students are encouraged to still take part in extra curricular activities whilst "online". The QAS Online Talent show was launched. Students are encouraged to send a video of their talent to Ms. Caroline by the 17th April.
Welcome to Week 3 of Online Learning. A new schedule was sent out over the weekend to reflect the moving of PHE to Thursday. We now only have 3 lessons each Sunday.
Our second full week of Online Learning is now complete. I wish all families a great weekend. Try to get away from screens and try a new hobby, read, play games or complete jigsaws or art projects. See you online next week!

The middle of the week has come around fast! Today the students studied Maths, Arabic, Islamic Studies (or Cultural Studies) and Performing Arts.
Students are continuing to work hard at home on their own. Online Learning is helping them to develop independent learning strategies.
Welcome to Week 3 of Online Learning. The school wishes to thank you for your kind words, emails and messages on Zoom and phone calls. Homeroom Teachers are gradually calling all of you in order to ask for any issues, positives and recommendations. A survey will then we sent home for you to fill in on Thursday by our Well Being Team.
To finish the week students have Individuals and Societies (Social Studies), English and Design.
Students are utilizing the catch up lessons scheduled each week to complete unfinished tasks or to get ahead. These help students who need a little more time to complete tasks as well. Catch up classes are scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Thank you to all the students that completed their work. Life inside is difficult at the moment and we appreciate all the stresses that you are going through as a family. Students are commenting that it is easier to adapt to being inside now now they are busy again with school tasks and they love interacting with their teachers and classmates during the classes.
It was great that all but 4 of our Grade 6 Students managed to complete 3 or 4 of their classes yesterday. I thank you for your support. The students seem to have adapted well to their new way of learning and are trying out lots of new technologies. Zoom seems to be helping our students out a lot!
Welcome back to all after Spring Break. It was definitely a different experience from what we are used to! Thank you for your support with our new Online Learning timetable. We hope that this will help all our learners to find the best way to complete their requirements either in real time or in their own time as they wish.
English - Students have all prepared their Passion Presentation and decided what they will say for each slide. They also completed a writing prompt on "Change"
Individuals and Societies (Social Studies) - Students this week have been looking at the History of Ancient Mesopotamia and the languages they used. They wrote their name in Cunieform.
Science - Students are working on the new unit Energy and complete the first two lessons. In lesson two, the students learned about the 10 energy types we will be using during the unit and had to match the correct descriptors to the energy type in a Google Document on Google Classroom.
Math - Before the online lessons started students had 2 lessons on making 6 slides in Google Classroom about Ratio, Rates and Unit rates to show their understanding. Students will have 3 online lessons to make 3 videos with screencastify to present their slides. This is their Criterion C summative for Mathematics about communicating.

2. These days do count as part of your school attendance and you are required to engage and interact with every class.
