OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE
ELA: This week, we will finish Benchmark Unit 4 "Understanding Different Points of View." This unit explores the essential question, "What do we learn when we look at the world through the eyes of others?" In this unit, students will read and compare the points of view in different selections and analyze how point of view affects a story. This week, we will continue reading "My Breaking In" and "After Dark."
The Unit 4 week 3 quiz will be on Friday.
Writing: This week, we will work on figurative language and will apply knowledge of different types of figurative language to some fun activities.
Math: Students brought home the Module 2 books Friday, as we have now completed that Module. This week, we will be working on Module 1, Topic A. In Module 3, Topic A, students will multiply and divide multiples of 10, 100, and 1000 by focusing on place value units. We will also begin Topic B. In topic B, students divide numbers of up to four digits by one-digit numbers.
The Topic A Quiz will be on Wednesday.
Homework: Homework includes Math Apply Book pages, cursive, daily math review and 20 minutes of reading. Please refer to the Homework page on my website to view the schedule. Checking your student’s communicator is the best way to stay updated on homework. I try to stick to the homework listed on the website, but sometimes plans change and the communicator will have the most updated information.
