November 12-14
Hello C3 Families!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
I hope you all are enjoying the long weekend! We have a very short week this week, but we still have some important things coming up.
Tuesday Envelope: Every Tuesday, your child will come home with an envelope of finished work, graded quizzes and tests and announcements. This week, they will come home with their graded ELA Benchmark Unit 4 weeks 1 and 2 quizzes (scores combined). Please be sure to sign your student's quizzes and review the content with them. Yellow envelopes need to be returned on Thursdays.
OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE
ELA: This week, we will work on a practice Benchmark Performance Task. The students will read two stories and answer questions about both. They will then answer a writing prompt about both stories.
Writing: This week, we will finish a writing assignment based on a text we read a couple of weeks ago, "The Gnat and the Lion." Students will work on editing their Narrative entitled, "A Conversation with the Gnat."
Math: This week, we will finish on Module 2. Students brought home the Module 2 Study Guide on Friday, which we will review on Wednesday. We will take the Topic E quiz on Thursday, then play a review game to prepare for the Module test on Friday.
We are going to slowly start Module 3. In Module 3, Topic A, students will multiply and divide multiples of 10, 100, and 1000 by focusing on place value units.
Homework: Homework includes Math Apply Book pages, cursive, daily math review and 20 minutes of reading. Please refer to the Homework page on my website to view the schedule. Checking your student’s communicator is the best way to stay updated on homework. I try to stick to the homework listed on the website, but sometimes plans change and the communicator will have the most updated information.
