September 8-12
Hello C3 Families!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
I enjoyed seeing many of you at Back to School Night! It was great to get a chance to chat with a few of you. If you were not able to make it, you can view the slides here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11PTu65jC14k6oSnTf_OLs9uKj63km-9f/view?usp=sharing. The printed slides will be coming home in the Tuesday folders this week as well.
Tuesday Folders: Every Tuesday, your child will come home with an envelope of finished work, graded quizzes and tests and announcements. This week, they will come home with some announcements and their graded math quiz. These folders need to be returned on Thursdays.
Fall Conferences:
Fall conferences are next month! Please sign up for a time slot at your earliest convenience. I am looking forward to discussing your student's progress.

OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE
ELA: This week, we will be continuing Benchmark Advance Unit 1, Government in Action. In this unit, students will read and compare selections about the different things governments do to understand how governments influence our lives. We will be working on our Week 2 packet.
Writing: We will continue working on narrative writing this week. Students will work on using a graphic organizer to prepare to write a narrative and will begin drafting.
Math: This week, we will work on a study guide for Module 1, Topic B. We will begin Module 1, Topic C this week. In topic C, students use place value understanding to round numbers of up to six digits to any place value and apply estimation to real-world contexts.
Homework: Homework includes Math Apply Book pages, cursive, and 20 minutes of reading. Please refer to the Homework page on my website to view the schedule. Checking your student’s communicator is the best way to stay updated on homework. I try to stick to the homework listed on the website, but sometimes plans change and the communicator will have the most updated information.
Class Dojo: If you have not yet joined Class Dojo, please be sure to do so! This is the main method of communication. I will post the newsletter on Class Dojo weekly, along with important announcements and class photos. Click the link to join: Class Dojo
Surveys: The Friendship List was emailed on Friday. If your child is not on the list, please fill out the contact information form so you can be added.
