December 1-5
Hello C3 Families!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
I hope you all had a great break and Thanksgiving holiday if you celebrate! I am looking forward to seeing the class and hearing all about what they have been up to over the past week.
Tuesday Envelope: Every Tuesday, your child will come home with an envelope of finished work, graded quizzes and tests and announcements. This week, they will come home with their graded Topic A Math Quiz and Unit 4 test. The December Book Review page will be in the envelope this week as well. Please be sure to sign your student's quizzes and review the content with them. Yellow envelopes need to be returned on Thursdays.
OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE
ELA: This week, we will conduct an investigation of poetry, prose, and drama. This will prepare students for a novel study we will begin on Friday of the novel, Love That Dog. The novel is written in poetry. We will be learning about different types of poems and will write our own over the next few weeks.
Writing: This week, we will begin working on Opinion Writing. Students will complete a pre-assessment and will work on some practice activities in preparation for their first Opinion piece.
Math: This week, we will be working on Module 1, Topic B. In topic B, students divide numbers of up to four digits by one-digit numbers. We will also begin Topic C. In topic C, students multiply numbers of up to four digits by one-digit numbers.
The Topic B Quiz will be on Wednesday.
Homework: Homework includes Math Apply Book pages, cursive, daily math review and 20 minutes of reading. Please refer to the Homework page on my website to view the schedule. Checking your student’s communicator is the best way to stay updated on homework. I try to stick to the homework listed on the website, but sometimes plans change and the communicator will have the most updated information.
