I created a citrus flower using grapefruit, Orange, Lemon, and Lime. The center petals are made out of dried thin slice of orange, surrounded petals with sliced grapefruit. I tied the slices together using a string. And the leaves are made out of lemon and Lime skin.

The box looks mysterious, something relical and something from another world. The box is made out of cardboard, acrylic paint, and chocolate box. I think the chocolate that I ate has a dawn forest smell, and the box is very unique, every chocolate's chamber is a little different just to fit the chocolate. This pattern gives a very relic touch to the box. And inside I put alphabet beads and dried mint, imagining the opening is like something ancient technology with a secret and mission is coming out.

This Box is meant for people to touch and smell to guess what is inside and where this is. It is the beach. The four scents are Coconut fruit pineapple, salty sea, sunscreen, and wet wood. The four chambers are four scenarios of memory in beach; towels, playing at the sand, the sea floor with bigger sand and sea floor with fine sand and shells. People emerge their faces into the top to smell the scent and feel the settings inside with their hands. There are four holes, which you can smell them separately or smell them together by taking a little distance.

Do you know that the face mask we wear is not recyclable? The process of making a mask is heavily chemical, especially the middle layer that filters covid virus. I made this protective face using a mask (including its wrappings). I cut the outer layer and sewed the fabric in to a porch, filled with cleansing and protective herbs. I choose the ones that have a more pleasant tea smell and also added mint. A scent that is refreshing and calming, because wearing a mask is not so comfortable and stuffy. Now there is Covid-19, and in the past one of the most terrible plague is the black death, the doctors at that time wear a scary bird-like face mask to protect hisself from the plague. In side the face mask is also different kind of herbs, to guard off the devils causing the sickness. The motif of my mask comes from here.

Guess what this necklace is made out of! It is made out of soap, and I cut it and wrapped it with wires. The soap itself has a beautiful scent, and a magical fine sparkling stone look. Other than a simple wearable jewelry it is also a sachet. I always think that not only precious stones and metal makes jewelry, I think anything can be made in to nice jewelry, even pebbles on the floor and a bar of soap.

The magic potion inside is the flying potion! The things inside are dried henbane flowers, and lily of the valley essential oil, baby hemlock leaves and baby datura leaves that I planted. The bottle is made out of bio plastic, I melt the beads in hot water and turn it in to the bottle. For the cap, there are moss and a blue crystal on top, like an anchor of the potion, because otherwise the potion will fly away. And on the outside of the bottle, I wrote Flying Potion and Keep Fresh in the Rune alphabet.

The ritual alter that I researched on is the keys of Solomon. It is a book that teaches people how to conjore demons/genies/spirits. There are two parts of the ritual, the first part is to invoke the four arch angles to protect you and contain the demons. After the angles are here, magicians will evoke the demons, they will show their appearance in the magic mirror. For the ritual I want to summon Decabaria the number 69 demon, who is said to leave a magic bird as a familiar, to get a familiar. The black bird on the side is the familiar that i made with Sculpey clay as a resemblance.

And one day Onnmyoji came to eliminate bad ghosts. The onnmyoji talked with her, and tried to conjure her husband's soul. But the soul did not reply, his husband's soul is rebirthed somewhere else. The maple tree ghost burst in to tears. But then, a messenger of the underworld came and said:" he wished to be rebirth the second he died". "Where is he now" asked the onnmyoji, "He is right there"said the messenger of the underworld pointing at the maple tree that the ghost has been waiting under.

I stitched a handkerchief with maple leaf pattern as if it is the handkerchief that the maple tree ghost stitched it for her husband as a lucky garment to bring with to war. And wrote this poem as if i am her not giving up waiting for her husband. On the right-hand corner, there is "今宵の月が綺麗ですね" a very shy way of saying I love you in Japanese in the old times.
