As a media producer, keeping a production log is crucial to the success of any project. It not only helps me to stay organised and on schedule, but also provides a clear overview of the project's progress and any potential issues that may arise. By keeping a detailed log, I can easily track the tasks that have been completed, the time spent on each task, and any expenses incurred. This not only helps me to stay within budget but also ensures that the final product is delivered on time and to the highest possible standard. In short, using a production log is essential in creating a more efficient and professional media production.

Though as of right now there has been no official brief for this project, I wanted to start this early with some good idea generation of the bat, these were of course not going to be my full range of ideas and of course not going to be the final idea I for but I wanted to get some rough ideas down before anything.
// Over christmas //
I would consistently, whenever I got the idea, come back to my idea generation page and put down the ideas with concepts. Some were very brief, but it was mainly a place for me to just put ideas for future reference.
// 05-01-2023 //
This afternoon we went over the what each B1, B2, B3, B4, B5 would cover within the project itself. This is was not the brief itself, but moreover a way for us to get a short over view of what will be happening within the next segment of the course. I also used the time to add & expand upon my idea generation page, with new ideas & exploring upon what I can feasibly achieve, with what I can realistically do within the time limit and at my current skill level.
We discussed pre-production, with how it can help you and why in a situation within the production of a product & why it is useful. We discussed how adaptability & felxibility to help solve issues and problems within the shoots, to prevent these problem. We also discussed about planning for expenditures to, once again, prevent a situation which can cause issues down the road. Going through all the free radical situations which can happen & what free radicals and how they can affect people in media.

Today we official got the brief for our B2 project brief, so this meant I could finally make a plan, schedule, gantt chart etc. for my preproduction. I will leave majority of the analysis of the brief for the Brief analysis page. We sat through and talked about the mandatory parts of our B2 workload and what we are required to do, though I wont go fully into here and will go more into the brief analysis on the official analysis page, like said before, but whilst going through it I was really set on the podcast idea. The podcast series would be about what I & a possible co-host had learnt in the prior week, whether that be interesting facts or more research we went into further my carrier. This would be recorded visually to be a video, audio recorded & have fully branded as it's own brand identity. This idea is still pending but I really like this idea, I would go more into this at a later date, but for now I can still think of the ideas I can. I still need to run this through with the "client", alongside some of the other ideas and get some feedback from other possible sources, as well as get a potential co-host for the possibility of the podcast series itself. My podcast would be bi-weekly or a weekly series that would run for multiple week/months.
After going through the brief as a group, I went back to working on my idea generation even though I was set on my current idea which I had been thinking about for several weeks with many other ideas, but this is the one that stuck, but it is always to good continue generating ideas incase the client does not approve or like the idea I might have. This is so that I go for the clients needs over my own and that I can get more feedback by running it through others.
// 09-01-2023 //
Today was spent first of all making the final changes to my idea generation page, with a total of #18 ideas, I believe at this point I had enough ideas to truly move forward in this project. I have yet to come to a conclusive final three but it wont be long till then, I decided to just go back and add a few more additional lines for each of them. We had Lois from A level in Queen Catherine's media department, who went around an discussed our ideas with us, she came over to me & we went through a few of my stuff together. I was able to get some feedback from an outside sources with a lot of my ideas being "interesting".
// 11-01-2023 //
Though today is a practical day, I'm gonna be spending it learning as much as I can then making a technical log on the items. They can be found at technical log page. This will be where I'll make majority of my technical analysis work. We spent the afternoon going through each of the cameras at our disposal as well as walking through what exactly is 3-Point lighting. We took a lot of videos with each of the cameras which displayed the 3-point lighting, this was going to be used in a technical log for 3-point lighting. We experiment later with the DGI OSMO pocket, which me and Daniel did a lot of test shots with.
// 12-01-2023 //
Today I spent the majority of it working on the brief analysis, analysing each section of the brief and what I needed to do for it. The purpose of this reason was for me to make an outline of what exactly I would need to put in my Gantt chart & Tracker, making sure I can plan accurately for each situation that might come up. I would say I am round about 80% done with the analysis by this point.
I also spent the time making dedicated Table of Contents pages which will lead to each dedicated folder of the B2 project. E.I B2.1, B2.2, B2.3, B2.4, B2.5. Each folder will take to you to whatever page would fall under that specific category. So I would link all my B2.2 Problem solving on that page, making sure it is clickable but definitely not neccessary to progress.
// 13-01-2023 //
I spent the morning of the day going through my pages to make sure I was keeping it as organised as I could & was following with the brief to understand if that was what I should be doing for this area. This was also to help in future for making a tracker & Gantt chart, but for now it was going to be a way for me to organise it nicely for the client. So my first idea was to make everything in a B2.1, B2.2, B2.3 ETC. Which worked but just made it a lot harder for me to know where everything was, then via feedback from my peers, I was given the example of maybe splitting it into: Pre-production, Production, Post-production.
On the left you can see what the original way of presenting the work was going to look like, you can see even though it was organised, the green squares represented what I was working on & it was quite hard for me to know (before making a tracker) what exactly I was working on and which folder I was going to find it in. So taking this into consideration & the clients consideration, I believed that maybe it would be best to rearrange it.
On the right you can see the after, with me having made all the changes I said I was gonna do. Splitting them into pre-production with a dark moon emoji (these emojis are not permanent but are there so on a quick search I can find the one I am looking for), production & post-production. As you can see, pre-production has the most amount of thing which I need to do, but after that it should be straight sailing.
I then spent the time to make sure each page had same continuity & looked very similar to each other, making sure there is no difference in the looks & they follow the same formatting. Though on paper there's not much to say on this, it still took me a while to do.
Spending the rest of the morning working through the brief and analysing it effectively to show that I understand it, whilst also using it to make sure I have every possible piece of document I would need to produce a professional standard of work.
Now I had all the material/resources I needed to do, I was able to make a conclusive tracker. Do note this is NOT a Gantt chart and is in no way a supplement to that, but more over a way for me to track exactly how I am making progress and if I have actually forgotten any folders.
My final piece of work for the day was me finally finishing up all the idea generation which I had been working on. Through all my ideas, I was most set on idea #9, idea #11 and ideal #17. Though I would like to do a bit more research into the demographic & audience before I make a conclusive 3 ideas, but these were ones I felt most confident in within a baseline of the brief being analysed.
// 16-01-2023 //
Over the weekend, I came up with one more idea, which would be to get back in contact with a previous contact who I had. This contact, Chello, was the owner of an orgnasation who works with Duke of Edenborough & Young Men's Health, to bring awareness to young men and what they can go through. Chello's org, "Brothers through boxing" is a project to help young men & young adults mental & physical fitness through boxing, reaching out to different Orgs to allow people to feel better about themselves and the life they want to achieve.
I then spent the next few hours working on the Gantt chart. As per usual this Gantt chart will be my main project planning tool, to outline what times I will be allocating for a project.
After the Gantt chart, I decided to start working on the proposals, as I wanted these proposals done by the end of next week. This was to get some solid progress with my piece & allow me to get research started as soon as I could.
// 19-01-2023 //
With my last idea being generated & being my favourite out all the ones I currently had, I decided to focus my effort on getting one ready for a proposal. I was going to also get 2 others read also, but my main focus was on idea #21, a documentary piece around boxing futures & Chello Rendo.
The morning was spent making a giant title idea dump, where I could pretty much put anything that came to mind down, this was going to be what I was going to do for title. Once I got a large quantity of titles that I liked, I put them to one side (The titles can be found on the left side of this document) & made a questionnaire to help me narrow which ones were popular. I was planning to let the questionnaire sit there for a few days to get a bit more feedback, but the most popular one by the evening was: "Knocked down, not out: The power of purpose"
I was approached by Helen, one of the tutor's at Peterborough College (Peterborough college being one of the clients), she sat down I gave her my rough 3 ideas. She liked all 3, them being #11, #17 & #21, #21 was my boxing idea and she said that one sounded interesting & would like to see it come along. I decided that with a 1v1 proposal done, I would propose this to a larger audience.
// 20-01-2023 //
I spent the morning refining my ideas for the final proposal in front of the class, which I was planning to do later today. This proposal will be focused on all 3 of my ideas but mainly focus on the boxing future's one.
I spent the rest of the day making a idea proposal which will be presented within the afternoon. The video will be found below.
The pitch went well and was able to get quite a lot of good feedback from everyone. Everyone seemed to be in the same line of thought as myself and was pretty happy with my Boxing Future's Documentary piece. With it pretty much signed off by both the client body & the feedback group, I decided to start getting the research underway.
// 23-01-2023 //
I spent my day working on researching, this was going to be main research for my YouTube section. I decided to look a bit more into the statistics for the UK, mostly into the demographics for the UK as a whole and what type of people use it within the UK.
// 24-01-2023 - 29-01-2023 //
This week I came down with a very bad case of a cold, which got bad as the week went on. I was unable to do work and did not want to contaminate my colleagues by going in.
// 30-01-2023 //
After the previous week, I knew I had to put in triple the effort to get the ball rolling on this project. I had to get a lot of paperwork done within the project and research to, I wanted to get a lot of the paperwork sorted in the following week. So my first job in the morning was getting release forms, (both location & person) ready & then needed to get an email sent out to a potential music producer who might be able to help out with the score.
On the right you can see the email I sent to Lee Ashton, someone I networked heavily with at the Gateway FIlm Festival & also someone who I had interviewed previously and got to know pretty well. I knew he did music & also worked with the mental and physical health of young people, so I believe he would be more than equipped to make a passionate score for the piece. I did not expect him to do this for free, so I offered a 1:1 trade for our skills, attempting to get him to make a score for my piece & in the future I would do a media project for himself.
I then did both release forms, for location & individuals. These would be signed on recording dates or whenever the media used.
Next I worked on researching more in-depth into different video formats, lighting, cinematic ways to produce a piece. etc. All of the work can be found on my research page.
// 01-02-2023 //
This day I decided to do another pitch in front of a few individuals who were diverse enough & that I knew I could get quality feedback from. I received a good amount of feedback from these individuals, one of the biggest being what the overarching story for my 2nd & 3rd idea was. These were the 2 that I wished most to get feedback on as they were my primary ideas.
2nd feedback & analysis:
What's connecting each arc of the story together?
This would be the overarching storyline that no matter what, games can get kept alive by just the community. These can involve, community content, events, tournaments, speedrunning, in personal meetups etc. & I can analysis games such as D&D, Chess, Team fortress 2 (using my contacts with community leads such as Richey from the kritzkast), My Hero One's Justice (Talk about my personal story of being one of the figure heads in that community & talk to the modders who are close friends to me). I would definitely explore more avenues this way & have me not be the permanent voice & figure head of the piece.
3rd feedback & analysis:
What is the story line?
Though I had planned the arcs out previous, I never thought of a way to make it flow as a story would. So after feedback I would format the piece in a way that makes it feel personal to the man himself, Cello Renda. This would start with Act 1 being the same but him talking whilst getting ready in the morning, showing him training at the gym himself whilst talking about his fights & a possible goal for the climax of the movie. Act 2 would be him working in the organisation & what he does on a day to day basis. Showing him going into his office, as if inviting us in for a one on one chat, whilst talking about the importance of keeping a hold on your mental & physical health. Act 3, where we get more testimonials from the people who have been affected by Cello's helpfulness & passion would come forward whilst it shows them training together & they would talk about how they have been helped & how they feel. With Act 4 being the final part of the day, with the large climax or event which was foreshadowed at the beginning happening, which rounds up the story & shows Cello finally able to rest.
Who is Cello & why should we care? Can he hold a documentary on his own, is he that interesting?
Though I know who Cello is, with the storyline I mentioned above it would give me personality to the story of the documentary & give you something to root for. Allowing for it to be a similar underdog story, reminiscent to Rocky. And with the, if he's able to be interesting enough for an audience to be held & grasped long enough to make it feel personable is definitely a difficult one. As this is my favourite idea, I would definitely need to get Cello in to do a short interview to see how he would act on camera and see if he would freeze up. Once this is tested, the possible outcomes is he is amazing on the camera & I will move forward with the project. Or that he is not able to hold enough attention by himself, would need to rethink the structure of the piece or go back to Idea #2.
// 02-02-2023 //
My plan was to yet again get more feedback on my pitch ideas, this time talking about the ideas I had previously gotten from the past feedback groups. This time from a new perspective. After explaining everything I had yesterday with my new concepts in hand and how I would explain it now with hindsight that my 3rd was her favourite, so now it was up to me to get in contact with Cello Renda and organise a meeting for us to talk about plans for the piece itself.
This meeting & recording would either break or make the piece itself & came down to that. So my option & plan for this would be to on my normal Monday with Cello on the Duke of Edenborough, I will use that time to organise a time for us to meet & chat about the availability of both locations and the idea in which I currently have.
// 06-02-2023 //
I spent the entire day working on my research page, getting every piece of work finialised and ready to be used in my piece. This included research into OFCOM, Ethical & Legal & all the different pieces of film that I wanted to use as inspiration for my piece. In the evening, I spent it making a risk assessments & partially started the recce's.
// 07-02-2023 //
The morning was spent making technical logs on relevant pieces of equipment, such as cameras & the lighting such as 3 point lighting. Spending the rest of the day working on getting the storyboard finalised for my piece, so I could get the treatment ready for my documentary piece.
// 09-02-2023 //
The rest of the day was spent finishing up the rough storyboard for the piece, with it nearly being finished, despite not being really needed for a documentary followed piece, It would still be beneficial to have this to help create a powerful hook for the viewer.
// 13-02-2023 //
Asked main actor to meet & gave date, for the 17th of Feb. I then wrote out a possible quote for the main actor.
"As a kid, I used to think the world was against me. I struggled to find my place, always feeling like an outsider. But then I found boxing. It gave me a purpose, a way to channel my pain and anger. Every time I stepped into the ring, I felt like I was fighting not just for myself, but for all those who feel like they don't belong. And even though I knew I ws the underdog, I wouldn't give up. Because every punch I threw was a reminder that I was stronger than my struggles, and I knew one day, I was going to build an organisation that helps others like me find their fighting spirit."
// 17-02-2023 //
On the 17th of February, I met with my official actor of the piece, this was recorded and will be on the right currently for watching purposes. With this conversation I got to learn of the possibility of him doing a large event as a boxing coach, working with a younger individual, allowing for me to structure a story about what being a coach for the younger generation is like.
So with this I will be able to structure my piece similarly to originally planned but now with a added climax & showcasing the mental battle of just not the individual but also the coach and how the coach has an effect on the combatant.
This structure is now:
Inspirational opening scene with personal quote from Cello.
Getting to meet and know who & why Cello is the way he is and his history within boxing.
Talking about why he wanted to create the org & what he pushed him forward to make it.
Showcasing the org & his daily life with the org and everyone who works with the org and who has been positively effected.
Then it would move on to showcasing a training session with the boxer himself, but focusing on Cello as the coach more than the boxer.
After the training, the story climax's with Cello & the boxer at the O2 arena. Showcasing Cello as the coach more than the boxing match itself but will have clips of it thrown in.
Documentary ends with the message, which revolves around the idea of "if you cant achieve something yourself, you can help the next generation and help improve them"
Interview with Cello, giving him a rough rundown of the script & getting his input upon the project as the as the main actor. We talked about possible story beats & he mentioned how on the 26th of March he will be coaching a professional boxer at the O2 arena, with the possibility of working alongside him and his boxer, following his coaching story.
// 22-02-2023 //
Now with the outline ready for a rough idea of my structure, I wanted to spend the time I had to plan possible dates.
Within 1 month, I had to have 4 recording days planned:
One morning to record the intro sunrise run with the actor, the rest of the day we would spend in the audio recording room for recording voice overs.
Next recording date would need to be a Monday, following him on his day to day routine, specifically recording his interaction with the organisation & everyone involved. I would use this day to interview the Monday Duke of Edenborough group & get personal statements from them.
The other date would showcase Cello's training with the the O2 combatant, showcasing his skills as both a boxer & coach/training.
Final date would be the 29th of March for the fight itself, where I would focus on Cello Renda as the coach, more than the fight but still showcase the fight.
For each of these days, I will have to book out multiple batteries as a fail safe due to the travel distance & to be secure.
I spent the rest of the day making the shot list to a good standard, nearly finishing it & just needing to add the details for the piece.
// 23-02-2023 //
I spent the start of this day finishing up the shot list & getting it ready for the the recording days, so it can be as understandable as possible. I also signed up to the press email & will be contacting the 02 Press team about the ability to record on the premises on the 29th of March with Cello.
// 24-02-2023 //
This morning I spent the morning working within the budget plan, but decided to talk to Dave the technician for the college to discuss what would be the preferable piece of recording equipment for the shoot. I was talking about the possibility of recording with the BlackMagic Cinema Pocket at the 02 Arena, but I definitely had the second thought knowing that the battery life is very limited on the camera, even though I could possibly have multiple batteries, recording away from mains was definitely a prospect which did not sit right & wanted a long battery life & good quality, which is compact. This is when I remembered the DJI OSMO pocket 2, this would be the most ideal small recording equipment, taking this into consideration. I have decided to use the DJI OSMO pocket 2 for the 29th of march.
Now I wanted to see if we also had access to a gimbal system if possible, which I looked into it and found out we have the availability of the Moza-AirCross gimbal, which has a 2 axis gimbal with it & allows for low weight cameras to be equipped onto it. With this in mind, I accessed if it would with the BlackMagic Cinema Camera or D700 but he said they're a bit too heavy for the gimbal because it is only light weight. Taking this into consideration, I own a Canon M100, which is a 24 Megapixel, 1080p 60fps compact camera with a small combi-lens built in. I would have to further research into this, but it seems like it would be the best combo possible for my piece as the compact cam has just as much or more detail available compared to the Canon D700+ series, but with the availability of being able to used with the Canon M100.
I also spent the time to message a few music producers to see if they may be interested in making a custom score to help add to the piece. I hadn't heard back from Lee Ashton, so I decided to send him a new message.
Once I finished my budget projection, I talked to Tom Dexter, a professional ghost writer about getting original score produced, he mentioned the possibility of contacting the students in music for producing a piece for my final project as their final project.
// 27-02-2023 //
I spent the morning formatting a professional email to send to the 02 Arena about recording on the premises. This will be what I send over on my professional business email, the one which is linked to my website.
After that I decided to format another email to send to Lee Ashton, a previous acquaintance who I had interviewed before.
After getting the emails sent off, I then worked on getting my final Tech Logs sorted for each piece of gear I will be working with. This was for the Moza-AirCross 1 & the DJI osmo pocket 2, two pieces of equipment which I believe will be the best for each of the reasons I will be using them for, which was talked about prior.
With the Tech Log's finished, I decided to have a little break & spend some time just giving each Tab a description under the title to let the person exploring my piece understand & have a brief description of what each piece of paperwork is used for. I got up to doing Behind The Scenes before finishing up for the best.
// 01-03-2023 //
My morning was spent looking into & planning a good narrative structure for my questions to help give the viewers a good narrative to follow & allowing Cello to have a lot of open questions to help keep up the narrative natural and flowing. Whilst talking to Andy about questions, he mentioned the possibility of having the opening scene be a quick show of the crowd & fight from the ending and having it as a quick hook before cutting away from the fight and showcasing the opening story & quote from Cello.
// 02-03-2023 //
Now I woke up this morning to find the following email in my inbox, which was quite confusing to say the least. Now I had to follow this up quickly but unfortunately my main Actor in the documentary was no responding so I had to put this on the back burner, but unfortunately this was a pressing issue & needed them to respond ASAP.
My afternoon was spent talking to Tom Dexter, a professional script writer/author/movie producer. My talk with him gave me plentiful of ideas for my piece & we talked a lot about my piece, so I will be spending my time now jotting down everything that we talked about. My main conversation topic was about the title of the piece, I had rand a lot of working titles prior through audience feedback, such as beyond the bell & power of purpose, but I felt like they said little nothing or too much. So after a very long time discussing it, we came up many ideas, but then he mentioned "what about just, Cello?"
So with that conversation, the title of my piece was perfect, I loved it, simple & straight to the point. We also discussed about my opening. Where I talked about my idea of having the roaring crowd & showcasing them behind him whilst coaching a fighter in the ring. But after talking about it & knowing that Cello has full access to a library of his original fights in the ring and is willing to give me them to use in my piece. With access to these, Tom mentioned the ability to maybe use that as my opening. With this recommendation, in my head I could perfectly picture the title sequence. A mix of old boxing footage with the castors commentating it, with the gain & audio reminiscent of old TV, in black and white, as the "Cello" written in Cello's handwriting fades in slowly on screen, in red. It then cuts to an eye shot of Cello, slowly pulling back to reveal he's sat in the middle of the ring on a chair, he starts the quote and the opening sequence plays.
With this discussion completed, I knew exactly how my piece was going to start & knew exactly what I wanted from it. I then moved onto making the my final pitch, with this I spent the afternoon working the background images in photoshop, using sepia & photo film filters with gaussian blur & grain to add slight background look to it.
// 03-03-2023 //
As I sat down to work on my final pitch, I knew that I had a lot of work ahead of me. This was the culmination of all the hard work and effort that I had put into this project, and it was important that I got it right. The purpose of the pitch was to showcase all of my prior work, and to present my documentation to the client so that they would know exactly what product they would be receiving.
In putting together my final pitch, I had to be meticulous and detail-oriented. I wanted to make sure that every aspect of the project was covered and that the client would be able to see the full scope of my vision. I spent hours poring over my notes and gathering all of the necessary information, making sure that everything was presented in a clear and concise manner.
As I worked, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and satisfaction. This project had been a long and challenging journey, but I had persevered and was now on the cusp of delivering a product that I was truly proud of. I knew that the final pitch would be a key moment in the process, and that it would play a crucial role in securing the client's trust and confidence in my work.
// 06-03-2023 //
This morning, my primary task was to do a recce on the locations that I had already secured for my project. Though I knew that I needed to acquire a few more locations to make the piece truly comprehensive, I decided to start with what I had and make the most of it. I wanted to ensure that I had a clear understanding of each space, so that I could make informed decisions about how to incorporate them into the final piece.
After completing the recce, I turned my attention to communication with my main actor, Cello. I needed to clarify the date and location of our shoot, and make sure that we were on the same page in terms of the overall vision for the project. With Cello's confirmation in hand, I felt confident in moving forward with the planning stages of our shoot. However, there was still work to be done in terms of securing additional locations. I decided to send a follow-up email to the 02 Arena press contact, in the hopes of securing this location for our shoot. While I knew that it would take some time to hear back from them, I felt that it was important to be persistent and to continue to reach out until I received a response.
// 08-03-2023 //
This morning, my main focus was on creating the rest of my pitch for the documentary project. I knew that I needed to include both my personal story and my reasoning behind why I believed this project would be perfect for Cello. It was important to me that my pitch not only demonstrated my skills and experience as a filmmaker, but also conveyed the emotional resonance of the project and the potential it held for audiences. I spent several hours crafting the perfect pitch, carefully choosing my words and honing my message to ensure that it was as persuasive and compelling as possible.
Once I had finished the pitch, I turned my attention to the design of a concept poster for the documentary. I wanted the poster to capture the essence of the project, while also providing a glimpse into what audiences could expect from the finished product. I spent time researching and exploring various design options, experimenting with different colours, fonts, and layouts. I knew that the poster would be an important marketing tool for the project, so I was determined to create something that was both visually striking and representative of the documentary as a whole.
// 09-03-2023 //
I recently performed the final pitch for my project and was fortunate enough to receive critical feedback from a variety of sources. It was both an exhilarating and nerve-wracking experience to present my ideas to a select group, and I was eager to hear their thoughts and opinions on my work. The pitch was the culmination of many weeks of hard work and preparation, and I knew that it was a crucial moment in the development of the project.
I was pleased to receive a range of feedback on my pitch, both positive and constructive. It was clear that the group had taken the time to thoroughly review my work and consider its strengths and weaknesses. While some of the feedback was challenging to hear, it was ultimately beneficial in helping me to refine my ideas and approach. I took detailed notes on the feedback that I received and spent time reflecting on how I could incorporate it into the final version of my project.
// 10-03-2023 //
This morning was a productive one for me. I started by printing off the release forms that I would need for the project. I knew that it was important to have these documents in order before moving forward with filming, as they would be essential for obtaining consent from the individuals involved in the project. I carefully reviewed the forms to ensure that they were complete and accurate, and felt a sense of satisfaction as I filed them away in my project folder.
Next, I sought out personal feedback from Spence, who I consider to be one of the most trusted knowledgeable in the industry. I value his opinion greatly and was eager to hear his thoughts on my project. We sat down together and went through the various elements of the project, discussing everything from the treatment to the copyright concerns. His feedback was insightful and thought-provoking, and I felt grateful for his willingness to take the time to provide me with such valuable insights.
Finally, I spent some time booking out the equipment that I would need for the month. As a filmmaker, having access to high-quality equipment is crucial to the success of my projects & knowing the college had such equipment available was so great to learn. I made sure to book out the necessary cameras, microphones, and lighting equipment, ensuring that I had everything I needed to capture the footage that I envisioned. I was pleased to have this task completed, as it gave me the peace of mind that comes with knowing that all of my equipment needs were taken care of.

Today was a busy day for me as I was determined to complete all the tasks I had planned for myself. My first priority was to finish the recce's for the Indigo 02 Arena, Peterborough town centre, and Hustanton UK. These locations are critical for my upcoming project, and I wanted to ensure that I had a complete understanding of the areas before I began filming. Once I had finished, I felt satisfied with my progress and ready to move on to the next task.
Next, I focused on completing the risk assessments for these areas. This is a crucial part of the filming process, as it helps me to identify any potential hazards that could pose a threat to the crew or cast members. Once I had completed the risk assessments, I felt confident that I had done everything possible to ensure the safety of everyone involved in the project.
After this, I shifted my attention to creating technical logs for Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. These logs would help me to stay organised during the post-production phase of the project, ensuring that I showcased clear understanding of which software tools I had used. I spent some time carefully creating the logs, ensuring that they were comprehensive and easy to use.
Finally, I recorded some footage of the boxing session for the Duke of Edinburgh and got release forms signed. Once I had recorded the footage, I made sure to get the necessary release forms signed to ensure that I had all the necessary permissions to use the footage in the project.
// 15-03-2023 //
Today, I spent some time updating the raw footage tab on my website. This tab is crucial for my project, as it provides a central location for all of the raw footage that I have captured so far. I wanted to make sure that this tab was up-to-date, so I spent some time carefully organising the footage and making sure that everything was correctly labelled and categorised. This would make it easier for me to find the footage that I needed during the editing process, and would also make it easier for others to access the footage if necessary.
After updating the raw footage tab, I turned my attention to my release forms. I had already collected signed release forms from all of the cast and crew members who were involved in the project, but I needed to make sure that these forms were uploaded onto the release form page on my website. This was an essential step, as it ensured that I had all the necessary permissions to use the footage in my project, and also made it clear to everyone involved that their privacy would be respected.
To upload the release forms, I first scanned them onto my computer, making sure that each one was clearly legible and in the correct format. I then carefully organised them into folders based on the date that they were signed, making it easy to find the forms that I needed quickly. Finally, I uploaded them onto the release form page on my website, making sure that they were clearly labelled and easy to find. This meant that anyone who needed to access the release forms could do so quickly and easily, and also ensured that I had all the necessary permissions to use the footage in my project.

I dedicated some time to researching UK film festivals and the submission process for Netflix. It was important for me to understand the requirements and procedures involved in submitting my work to these platforms in order to increase the chances of my work being accepted and viewed by a wider audience. I wanted to make sure I was well-informed and prepared for the submission process, and so I researched thoroughly to gather as much information as possible.
After completing my research, I shifted my focus towards working on my first set of raw footage. I was meticulous in my approach and took great care in ensuring that the footage was presented effectively within the relevant directory. This involved selecting the appropriate files and organising them in a way that would make it easy for me to work with them in the future. It was important for me to have a clear and organised structure for my raw footage, as this would save me time and effort in the editing process further down the line.

Yesterday, I managed to complete most of the pre-production paperwork required for my upcoming project. I made sure to go through every single document and checklist to ensure that nothing was missed. At this point, the only thing that remained was to take pictures of potential cast members and determine their roles within the production.
With most of the paperwork out of the way, I had some time to do some experimentation with the lighting for my project. I took some test pictures to test out the lighting and was happy with the results. However, I thought that the brightness could be increased just a little bit more to make the scene pop. Overall, I am happy with the progress I made yesterday, and I am excited to move on to the next steps of the production process.

This morning, I received an unexpected call from my actor. He informed me that he will be doing a signing in London and kindly invited me to attend with him. This was a wonderful opportunity for me to network and connect with potential collaborators, as well as witness my actor in a public setting. I was thrilled to be given this chance and quickly accepted his invitation.
As soon as we finished our call, I began to plan my absence from college. I knew I needed to notify them as soon as possible and provide a valid reason for my absence. I quickly formulated an email, making sure to be polite yet informative. I explained the situation to them and asked if it was possible to be excused for the day. It was important for me to stay on top of my academic responsibilities, but I also knew that this opportunity was too good to pass up.
// 22-03-2023 //
Yesterday was an exciting day for me as I spent the entire day testing the DJI Osmo Pocket 2 camera. It was a great opportunity to test its video and audio recording capabilities in different conditions to ensure that it will work perfectly for the upcoming shoots on the 23rd, 24th and 25th. I experimented with different lighting, sound levels, and movements to find the best way to shoot the footage. It was an enjoyable and rewarding experience as I learned a lot about how to use this camera and how to create the best shots.
Later in the day, I spent some time working on the treatment for my project. It was a long and challenging process, but I was able to flesh out all five acts and make sure that all the emotional beats were well-defined and refined. I wanted to ensure that the treatment conveyed the true essence of the story and that it will captivate the audience. I spent the evening working on it, trying to make it as perfect as possible. It was a great feeling when I finally finished it and was able to look back at it with satisfaction. Overall, it was a productive day, and I feel more confident about the upcoming shoots.

I attended a promotional event for Boxing Futures in London. The event was in collaboration with the new clothing line, which was a great opportunity to promote the brand and attract potential customers. Despite the lack of people in attendance, we made the most of the situation and worked to get the word out about the event and the brand.
During the event, I had the chance to meet with some of the people who did show up and had some great conversations with them. We discussed the clothing brand, Boxing Futures and the importance of supporting young people in the sport. I was able to answer questions and share my passion for the work I do with Boxing Futures, which was an incredibly rewarding experience.
While the turnout was not as high as we had hoped for, we were still able to network and spread the word about the event and the brand. We all worked together to ensure that the promotional event was a success, and I was proud to be a part of such a supportive and dedicated team. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I look forward to the future events with Boxing Futures and the clothing brand.

I had the opportunity to join the Duke of Edinburgh group on their two-day residential trip to Hunstanton. We stayed at the Caley Hotel, located in the charming town of Old Hunstanton. The hotel had a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.
The town of Hunstanton itself was also a highlight of the trip. With its picturesque beach and seaside promenade, it provided a tranquil and scenic backdrop to our activities. We had the opportunity to explore the town and its surroundings, and I was struck by the natural beauty of the area.

Today was a productive day for me as I began by uploading my recordings to the drive, ensuring that all the files were saved in the right folders. I then set up a personal one-on-one meeting with Steve Simmonds, the head of the music department. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the possibility of using some of the music pieces from the department in my piece. Steve accepted my proposal and suggested that I perform my pitch in front of the students of the music department. I agreed to this as I felt that it would be a great opportunity to not only showcase my project but get some music for the piece.
After the meeting, I decided to edit my final pitch into a director's vision. I wanted to simplify it so that it was easily understandable for a mass audience. The idea was to convey my vision and ambition behind the piece itself. I spent several hours working on this and finally managed to come up with a concise and engaging pitch.
Although I'm still unsure about the timing of my pitch to the music department, I'm confident that I'll be able to clarify that soon. In the meantime, I'm glad that I managed to make some significant progress yesterday.
After spending the day capturing footage, it was a relief to finally have everything uploaded and backed up. With that taken care of, I began to focus on planning for the next phase of my project: the interviews. I knew that I needed to have the right equipment to capture high-quality footage and audio, so I promptly booked the necessary gear.
// 31-03-2023 //
After realising that my production log needed a more comprehensive update to accurately reflect my current work process, I decided to dedicate my day to improving it. This involved going back through my notes and making sure that everything was recorded accurately and in as much detail as possible. By doing this, I could ensure that I was on track with my project and that I had a clear understanding of the progress I had made so far.
While working on my production log, I suddenly realised that I had forgotten about a planned meeting with Steve Simons in the morning. I felt embarrassed and guilty for not showing up, as I knew that Steve was a very busy person and that my mistake would have taken up valuable time in his schedule. In order to make amends, I quickly drafted an apology letter to Steve, expressing my sincerest apologies for the inconvenience caused and taking full responsibility for my mistake. I assured him that it was not intentional and that I would make sure to be more diligent with my time management in the future.
I worked on updating my problem log about my inability to get the release forms signed by the 02 arena.
// 03-04-2023 //
I spent a significant amount of time conducting interview test recordings to assess the quality of the audio captured with the phone-based lav mic. Unfortunately, the quality was far from ideal, and I was not satisfied with the results. As someone who values the quality of my work, I knew that I had to find a solution to this issue.
The test interviews can be found here: Test interviews
After considering my options, I decided to reach out to a contact of mine and managed to secure a Rode Wireless Go 2 lav set up. With this equipment, I would be able to capture high-quality audio during my future interviews, which would significantly enhance the overall quality of my project. I was thrilled at the prospect of finally being able to capture the high-quality audio I needed to make my project a success.
// 06-04-2023 //
I started my day by working on organising a date for the recording date, which I had been trying to do for a while now. I decided to make a phone call to discuss the possibilities with them. We went through several different dates and schedules, and finally came to an agreement that the 14th of April would be the most efficient for both of us. I felt relieved after finally securing a date for the recording. It had been a priority on my to-do list for quite some time, and I was glad to finally have it sorted. I noted down the date in my planner, ensuring that I wouldn't forget it.
I knew that the 14th of April would require a lot of preparation, so I started planning my schedule for the days leading up to it. I wanted to make sure that I had everything ready in time and that I wouldn't be rushing around last minute. I made a checklist of things I needed to do, including arranging equipment, preparing the location, and finalising details with the actors. (Such as them bringing their fights on DVD to the location)
// 09-04-2023 //
Today, I focused on updating my website and improving the overall user experience. To achieve this, I expanded and worked on three important pages on my website - the problem log, behind the scenes pictures, and test footage pages.
The problem log page is where I keep track of all the issues that arise during the production process. This helps me keep track of what needs to be addressed and what solutions have been implemented. I added more details to the problem log and made it easier to navigate.
The behind the scenes pictures page is where I showcase some of the interesting moments and scenes that happen during the production process. I added more pictures and captions to this page, providing more context and insight into what was happening behind the camera. I believe this page will be interesting for viewers, as it provides a glimpse into the production process and the work that goes into creating my documentary.
The test footage page is where I showcase some of the initial footage that was shot during the production phase. I updated this page with more details about the test footage and the equipment used to shoot it. This page is useful for myself and others to review and evaluate the initial footage, and to see how the footage evolves throughout the production process.
// 11-04-2023 //
I began my day by reaching out to some of my colleagues and asking them if they could lend me some extra gear for my upcoming shoot. One of the pieces of equipment that I was hoping to use was the DJI osmo pocket 1, which would be perfect for capturing some movement-based shots on Friday. I was thrilled to hear that one of my colleagues was happy to lend me the equipment, which would be a real asset to my project.
With the gear sorted, I then turned my attention to organising the crew and ensuring that everyone was on the same page. I spent some time putting together call sheets for everyone, which would help us to stay organised and ensure that everyone knew what was expected of them on the day of the shoot. It was important to me that everyone had a clear idea of their roles and responsibilities so that we could work together seamlessly and create the best possible outcome.
As well as organising the gear and the crew, I also took some time to check and double-check all of my equipment and make sure that everything was in good working order. I knew that I needed to be fully prepared for the shoot, and so I wanted to ensure that everything was ready to go well in advance. By doing this, I could feel confident and prepared going into the shoot and focus on capturing the best possible footage.
// 14-04-2023 //
On the scheduled day of filming, my team and I met at the location as per the call sheet which we had prepared earlier. We arrived at 10 am and promptly went through each shot that we had planned for the day. While the initial storyboard was altered slightly, the overall concept remained intact and we were able to execute our plan with ease.
The shots consisted of the following main topics to shoot:
Main reveal static shot
Movement based sport shots
Workout B-Roll
Location B-Roll
Emotional scene
The shots we took ranged from inside the ring, using workout equipment and going for a run. We captured plenty of B-roll footage which we knew would be essential for the final edit. As we progressed through the day, we faced a minor setback as we did not bring an extra battery for our camera. Due to the limited power supply and the time constraint, we decided to reschedule the interview for the following Sunday, the 16th.
Despite the setback, we managed to capture some excellent footage and were satisfied with the progress we made. We were well prepared with all the necessary equipment, including a tripod, main camera and lens, backup lens, backup camera with a backup SD card, smart lav mic, DJI OSMO pocket 1 and the Rode wireless go 2 set. Having this equipment helped us achieve the high-quality shots we were aiming for, and ensured that we were ready for any unexpected challenges that came our way.
// 16-04-2023 //
On the Sunday of the shoot, we met at 11am in the gym's one-on-one support room, to ensure the best sound quality for the interview with our Actor. Despite my preference for recording in the college recording studio, we had to make do with the alternatives available due to our subject's conflicting work schedule. I made sure to ask key questions during the interview, focusing on topics that would drive the plot forward and provide a solid backbone for the voiceover in the final piece.
Unfortunately, I made a blunder by forgetting to bring a secondary SD card in case the first one became full during the recording. This was an oversight on my part, and it could have had serious consequences if we had not been able to record everything we needed. Thankfully, we were able to complete the interview without incident.
// 17-04-2023 //
I started my day by updating some of the important documents related to the project. I made sure to include all the necessary details and information that reflected the work done in the past week. This was crucial to keep a track of the progress we were making and to stay organized throughout the project. After that, I moved onto working on the raw footage page. This page was important as it contained all the unedited footage that we had captured during the filming process.
While working on this page, I also took the time to review some of the footage that we had captured in the past week. This helped me to identify any areas that needed improvement or any shots that we had missed during the filming process. This review process was important to ensure that we had captured everything we needed and to avoid any last-minute reshoots.
// 19-04-2023 //
As I arrived at the MJC, I made it a priority to catch up with Steve Simmonds, one of my colleagues, to discuss the progress of my project. I wanted to make sure that I was on the right track and that there were no issues that needed to be addressed. After speaking with him, we agreed to reschedule our meeting to Friday at 10am, where I would be presenting my project to his music classroom to see if they had any music pieces they would like to submit.
With that out of the way, I spent the rest of the morning updating my Gantt Chart. I knew that I had to work efficiently because the release date for my edited version was fast approaching. As I had less than three weeks to finalise my project, I made sure that my new Gantt Chart, now version 3, was updated with the latest time frames and reflected my predicted workflow for the editing process.
Despite feeling confident in my abilities, I knew that producing a professional-quality video would take time and effort. It was important for me to have a clear understanding of the timeline and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that I was on track to deliver a quality product. I took into account all the factors that could impact my workflow and made sure to incorporate them into my new Gantt Chart.
As soon as I had resolved the issue with the DVDs, I moved on to the next task on my to-do list. I started by sorting through the 5 fights that I had converted to MP4 format, making sure they were all labelled correctly and organised in a way that made sense. I knew that this would make the editing process much smoother down the line, as I wouldn't have to waste time trying to figure out which footage was which.
Once I had organised the footage, I began the process of selecting the most suitable clips to use in my piece. This involved watching through each fight multiple times, looking for any moments that would be visually interesting or add to the story I was trying to tell. As I worked my way through the footage, I took notes on which clips I wanted to use and where they would fit into the overall narrative.
With the fight footage sorted and selected, I then turned my attention to planning the shoot for the following Monday.
In the afternoon, the weather was nice, which was a perfect opportunity to get some B-Roll footage of Peterborough. We decided to take a walk around town center, bridge street and the embankment, capturing various shots of the bustling city. As we were walking around, I made sure to take shots of people walking, the buildings and landmarks in the area, and anything that caught my eye.
It was important to get a variety of shots to help create the atmosphere and give context to the piece when talking about Peterborough. The footage we captured was uploaded straight to the drive, so I could easily access it when editing the final piece. I made sure to label everything properly and organise the footage so that it would be easy to find later. Once we were done with the B-Roll, I spent the rest of the afternoon editing the audio to make it more professional. I wanted the audio to be crystal clear with no peaks, so I spent time tweaking the levels to make sure everything was just right. I also added some cinematic effects to the audio to help bring out the emotion in the Cello's voice.
// 20-04-2023 //
I woke up early today with a clear goal in mind, to break down all the interview segments I had recorded with Cello into respective segments for use as a voice-over. I knew I had my work cut out for me, as there was about 40 minutes worth of interview to go through. But, I was determined to get it done and make the best use of Cello's answers to drive the narrative forward.
As I started going through the recordings, I realised there was a lot of great content in there. Cello talked about his experiences, what he's done and shared some valuable insights. But, to make it work for the piece, I had to go through and edit it down to just his answers. I spent hours breaking it down to roughly 25 minutes of Cello talking, trying to pick the best pieces that will drive the plot forward.

I woke up early in the morning, excited for the meeting I had planned with Steve Simmonds. I knew that this meeting was going to be a crucial step towards getting some talented musician students to produce a music score for my documentary or submit prior work. I arrived at the main college campus within the musician's sector, went down to his office, and waited outside. I had set the deadline for the meeting at 10 am, but unfortunately, he did not arrive on time. I waited for around 20 minutes past the deadline, but there was no sign of him.
To make use of my time, I decided to speak to some of Steve's colleagues about my proposal. I explained my plan to them and they were very supportive of it. They told me that it would be a great opportunity for the musician students and encouraged me to submit my client brief to Nick Slater, who was in charge of the music department. He would then distribute it to the students so that they could have a clear idea of what I was looking for.
I took their advice and spent the rest of the morning working on a client brief for the musician students. I wanted to provide them with as much information as possible so that they could produce a music score that would perfectly complement the documentary. The brief consisted of six pages and included detailed information about the tone of the documentary, the style of music I was looking for, the mood that the music should evoke, and other essential details.
Despite the setback of the missed meeting, I was still able to make progress towards achieving my goal. I felt confident that the client brief would help the musician students understand what I was looking for, and I looked forward to seeing what they would come up with. It was exciting to know that the music score for my documentary would be composed by talented students who were passionate about their craft.
// 22-04-2023 //
I spent the entire day engrossed in the post-production process, working on the rough edit of our documentary. It was a task that required immense attention to detail, but also allowed me to flex my creative muscles in the editing room. I focused on ensuring that each segment of the documentary was placed in the most appropriate spot on the timeline, and that the b-roll footage was used to accentual the important points made by Cello.
One of the most crucial aspects of this rough edit was to ensure that Cello's voice over and interview remained at the forefront of the documentary. After all, he is the main focus of the piece, and his experiences and insights are what drive the narrative forward. I wanted to make sure that his voice was heard loud and clear, and that the supporting cast's contributions served to amplify his story, rather than detract from it.
// 24-04-2023 //
On the second day of the edit, I was able to make significant progress as I expanded the rough cut from 4 minutes to 13 minutes. This involved delving deeper into the story of Cello's colleagues and students. I was determined to make the documentary as comprehensive and informative as possible, so I continued to work tirelessly on the rough edit.
One of the most important tasks I completed that day was recording interviews with both Cello's colleagues and students. These interviews provided invaluable insights into Cello's work and character, and helped to bring the documentary to life. I took great care to ensure that these interviews were recorded in a professional and engaging manner, as I knew that they would be a crucial element of the final product.
Once the interviews were completed, I uploaded them and posted them on my raw footage with the other footage. This allowed me to easily access and review all of the footage as I continued to work on the rough edit. I was pleased with the progress I had made so far, but I knew that there was still much work to be done before the documentary was complete.
// 25-04-2023 //
Starting my day with an email from Nick Slater gave me a boost of energy and motivation to continue working on my documentary. The email informed me that someone was interested in collaborating with me on the soundtrack for the piece. This was a great opportunity for me, and I was excited to meet with Trystan Northern, who was the individual interested in working with me. I quickly hopped on my bike and headed to the college campus to meet with him in person.
During our meeting, we discussed the details of the collaboration, and Trystan seemed to understand what I was looking for in the documentary's soundtrack. I expanded on the client brief and clarified any queries he had. It was a productive meeting, and we parted ways with a clear understanding of what we needed to do.
Once I got back home, I immediately sent Trystan an email thanking him for collaborating with me on such short notice. I also informed him that if things went well, I would be happy to work with him in the future. It was great to have someone else involved in the project, and I felt that it would add an extra layer of depth to the documentary.
My next task for the day was to continue working on the rough edit of the documentary. I began by editing all the interviews with the other individuals involved in the project into separate clips. This was similar to what I had done previously with Cello's clips. This process made it easier for me to sort the clips into parts of the documentary in the future.
With the interviews edited and sorted into the timeline, my main focus was on getting the B-roll and the ending of the documentary sorted before sending it off for feedback. I knew that this rough draft wasn't perfect, but it was a significant step forward in the project, and I was eager to get feedback from others on how to improve it.
// 26-04-2023 //
Waking up to a large selection of music pieces from Trystan Northern was a pleasant surprise. As I had only talked to him the previous day, I had not expected to receive them so soon. My plan was to complete the rough edit of the documentary today and then experiment with incorporating the music pieces to give Trystan an idea of what I was looking for.
I began my day by sifting through 45 minutes of B-Roll footage from the residential to select the best clips for the parts where the individuals are discussing their experiences. It was a time-consuming process, but I knew it was necessary to ensure that the final product was of the highest quality.
With all the B-Roll footage in place, I moved on to finalising the rough edit. My goal was to render the rough cut and get feedback on the piece from Spence, Someone I hold in high regard and who is extremely critical of media. I also shared the rough cut with a few other colleagues of Spence's for additional feedback.
After receiving feedback, I spent time colour correcting the base interviews. I knew that this was the most critical aspect of the documentary as it would be the primary factor that would make it appealing to the audience. I wanted to make sure that the interviews looked polished and professional.
As I was working on the final touches of the rough edit, I sent an email to Trystan to request some more ambient music pieces for the talking head segments of the documentary. I wanted to add a bit of variety and depth to the audio and felt that ambient pieces would be an excellent addition.
// 27-04-2023 //
Upon arrival, we got right to work. I explained my vision for the soundtrack, which involved a lo-fi/bedding music feel to accompany the talking heads segments of the documentary. Trystan listened attentively and asked me some questions to better understand my ideas. He was a talented musician and quickly got to work on producing some samples that would match my vision.
We spent a good four hours working together, and it was an incredibly productive session. I was pleased with the samples that Trystan produced, and we had a great collaboration throughout the morning.
After the session with Trystan, I went back home to continue working on the documentary. My main focus for the day was to finish editing the rough draft and add the new soundtrack samples that Trystan had produced. I started by going through the rough draft and making some minor changes to the B-roll footage that I had selected the day before.
Once I had sorted out the B-roll footage, it was time to add in the new soundtrack samples. I carefully selected the right pieces of music to match each of the talking head segments, ensuring that they were all consistent in tone and feel. The soundtrack samples really brought the documentary to life and added a new layer of emotion to the piece.
// 28-04-2023 //
As I started my work day, I decided to take a step back from the current edit and create a condensed version of the documentary. My aim was to have all the essential information packed into a shorter video, which would allow for easier viewing and feedback from colleagues and potential clients.
The process of condensing the video was an interesting challenge, as I had to carefully consider what information to include and what could be left out. I spent the morning and early afternoon working on it, making sure that the pacing was appropriate and that the story still made sense.
Of course, there were still some elements missing from the condensed version. I still needed to add some bedding music, an introduction, outro, and some overlays. However, even without these elements, the improvements were already visible. The structure was clearer and more concise, which would hopefully make it more appealing to potential viewers.
// 01-05-2023 //
After spending some time on the intro segment of the documentary, I finally completed it with all the necessary visuals and overlays. I also added a title sequence and title cards that would appear throughout the segment. This helped to establish a strong visual style and branding for the documentary, making it more appealing to potential viewers.
I worked on this segment until around the 4 minute mark, making sure that everything was perfectly timed and in sync with the accompanying music. I also made sure that the tone and pacing of the intro were consistent with the overall theme and message of the documentary.
This was an important milestone for the project, as it gave me a clear idea of the visual style and tone that the rest of the documentary should follow. It also allowed me to create a cohesive and engaging introduction that would draw viewers in and set the stage for the rest of the story.
// 02-05-2023 //
Today has been an extremely productive day for me as I finally managed to complete the entire edit of my piece. It feels like such an achievement to have come so far and to finally be able to say that the project is so near completion. It is essential to create a good first impression on the audience, and I think the title sequence with visuals and overlays did exactly that.
I had also been working on the ending of the piece for quite some time and finally settled on including a powerful quote from Cello, which adds an extra emotional layer to the film. I wanted the audience to leave the documentary with a strong message and sense of inspiration, and I feel that the quote perfectly encapsulates this.
In addition to the ending, I also included credits for everyone who was a part of making this project a reality. It is essential to acknowledge and give credit to all the hardworking individuals who put their time and effort into making this piece come to life.
// 03-05-2023 //
After completing the final colour grading, I ensured that the aspect ratio of the piece was set to the correct Hollywood/professional standard of 1.85:1, giving it a more polished and professional look. I then proceeded to render the piece for the last time, making sure that all the elements were in place and that everything was working as intended.
As I worked on the paperwork, I reflected on the entire process, from the initial idea to the finished product. It had been a challenging but ultimately rewarding experience, and I was proud of what I had accomplished. The piece was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of everyone involved, and I can't wait to share it with the world.
// 04-05-2023 //
After completing all the visuals for the project, I moved on to the remaining paperwork that needed to be completed. This included adding descriptions and making it easy for the audience to access information, as well as expanding on the previous entries in the production log.
I spent several hours typing away at the final evaluation, making sure to include all the details and nuances of the project. It was important to me to provide a comprehensive summary of the entire process, from the pre-production work to the challenges faced during production and post-production.
Despite the long hours and effort, I found the evaluation to be a rewarding experience. It allowed me to reflect on my work and the journey that I had been on throughout the project. As I reached the end of the evaluation, I felt a sense of accomplishment and pride in all that I had achieved.

The dawn of the final day approached, this was not that much of a scare though, due to the fact of having prepped and had every document up to do and everything was pretty much ready to hand in and all that needed to be done was the spruce up a few small pages with some little bits of written material here and there.
I then spent the rest of time going through separate sub page to make sure there was easy navigation when clicking the dropdowns.
On the left you can see the buttons to assignment is clickable and sends you to a link page each document or you can just click the drop down arrows to get to specific documents, but everyone page on the drop down navigation, has navigating use and ease of access for the audience/viewer.
With everything double & triple checked with my pieces, I was very much happy with all the content which I had produced and everything was done in a clear concise way, which I deemed to be professional enough. Thus I used the time to get feedback from as many sources as I could and asked as many as I could for possible feedback they would give, so moving forward I could reflect and take their opinions on board.
I appreciate this feedback, though mainly positives I do understand the criticism with the ending credits & pacing with them, it is something that, if I had more time I would work on. Though they don't subtract from the piece, I'm glad it was bought up and mentioned because it gives me some stuff to work on if to improve the piece.
Taking on the critism of Cello being loud at times, that makes sense and is understandable, though normalised to -3DB, Cello is a very loud by nature person so matching him with everyone elses voice levels was quite difficult. If given more time, I believe I would go through and make sure Cello was less abrupt when talking and allow for better transitions between conversations.
With the "what" more about the organisation, I do get that also, maybe in future if I were to add more of a context into the piece with maybe another snippet of just the organisation being talked about and it's programs, it would give more of a background of what they do and how they work. I would definitely go back and this later on as an improved part to the piece.
I also asked another colleague for feedback, this time they gave a lot of positive feedback and mentioned a few good pieces of criticism. I really appreciated the feedback which was given as it really did allow me to view some of my piece in a better light, such as multiple angles for the interview segment and Cello's muffled audio, which both were bought up previously to my attention and unfortunately I cant do much about now.
Given hindsight, I really wish I had done multiple angles for my interview segment and used a more acoustically sound room. But unfortunately due to multiple delays, that room was the best I could do at the time, though the multiple cameras could have been do-able but unfortunately I didn't at the time. So if I could go back and record the interviews again with that in mind, I would.
Though for the ending, I believe ending it with mainly the young adults talking, really suits it better rather than Cello talking. In my eyes, that splits up the piece more into the two segments I wanted from the piece, with them being: Cello and who he is; Boxing futures and what they do. Though I appreciate the criticism and take it on board, I believe this ending is better in my eyes.
