When I receive a client brief, the first thing I do is break it down into its key components. This helps me to fully understand the project requirements and ensure that I am meeting the client's expectations. By breaking down the brief, I can identify the target audience, the message that needs to be conveyed, and the overall tone and style of the piece. This information is crucial in guiding my creative decisions and ensuring that the final product is professional and effective. By taking the time to break down the brief, I can also identify any potential challenges or issues that may arise, and develop strategies to address them. This ultimately leads to a better quality product that meets the client's needs and exceeds their expectations.
// Overview //
With the release of the brief, it was time to finally analysis it for what content would need to be produced within the B2 production, though without a concrete idea yet, I would have to keep my brief analysis pretty broad or make a brief analysis which would cover multiple spectrums of ideas & the different media which is may be displayed on, whether that be auditory in a podcast or a short film with little to no audio.
As per all the previous briefs we've had, we will be splitting in into 5 different sections, these section will be labeled as B2.1, B2.2, B2.3, B2.4, B2.5. Whilst planning I am going to choose what will be the best way to produce a easy way of formatting this into a readable & easy to navigate format.
// Client //
The client for this product will be the Peterborough College/ Inside the box, Inside the box being a student showcase platform, which posts and enables the promotion of college material. With the brief itself, it is say they are current looking for student work to put on their social media website & platforms, with the prospects of wanting to help the engagement with potential employers & allowing for students to make a showcase of their best work for the purpose of helping link up with local creative practitioners. The product we will be creating, should be able to be posted to the Peterborough College website & YouTube Channel, meaning that one of the most important research topics I would need to look into, would be YouTube. This would also help me as after using Vimeo for a while, I have come to prefer YouTube over it, but I will keep my personal opinions aside until further research can be done.
// Context //
The first paragraph mentions that after our B1 personal research into our future, it is now time for us to show what we can really do. The product we will be doing should follow what our B1 said we were hoping to achieve within our 1 Year, 5 Year & 10 Year. For me, this would be expanding more upon my media presence, so something that will help showcase & research more into Photography & Video Editing, as that is what my future is going be more geared towards.
The next paragraph goes more in-depth about where we should be putting this research (onto our personal websites) and what we exactly should be research, which is generalised but still helpful, these being: Style & Format, Publishing platforms, Engaging Audiences and Continued Development of chosen skill.
The next line then tells us the bare minimum of which is expected to be showcased & produced, those being: Quantitative & Qualitative Research, Idea generation and developement documentation & final edited product. - These being the bare minimum, but still helpful to have wrote down somewhere.
// Audience //
Since the Audience is quite generalised, the main goal is to keep your piece as open to as many people as possible, allowing for the local populous to be entertained whilst the media professionals are still impressed. The main goal for the audience takeaway to show the skill sets and knowledge of ourselves, showing what we are capable of. Once again, this is very much generalised but still means that we need to look into what a lot of the local population of Peterborough is interested in, with the main demographic we're aiming for potential employers who are around hiring age.
// Pathway Outcomes //
This part of the brief talks about the formatting of our what our products should be, when we pitch our ideas & get them approved before we move on the production phase. Meaning that we must have a reasoning for our format of choose, chosen before our pitches. The way I am going to go about this is to have a generalised focus group to pitch my final 3 ideas, with more research to be done after for my final idea pitch, but the first focus group will be to help gauge audience opinions.
The rest is merely a suggestion for each format that can be chosen, using it as a baseline before our actual product's done.
// Project Expectations//
With this paragraph, it talks about pretty much the need to explore every part of your creative process & why you are doing what you are doing and why, because no-one can see your thoughts other than yourself. This means that you need to write every little thing you think and why, annotating every thought process.
The last of the paragraph goes into making sure you keep your work to a professional standard, that you would do if you were working for an actual production studio. Making sure to plan for problems before hand & showing problem-solving skills if you do come across a problem during productions.
// B2.1 //
With the following analysing of parts will basically consist of a list of what exactly each folder will contain and show as evidence for that part. The section on the left just goes over everything that should be within the final production, this is the bare minimum & does not contain everything, but should only be looked at as the main parts that should be done.
Whilst the section on the right is what we need to showcase to get each individual marking. Each are pretty self explanatory, since I went over each section already, but briefly to get a distinction:

B2.4

With the main purpose of this area is the way of taking critical feedback and showcasing that you do in fact understand your audience and who you are going to be making this for.
