GROUP ARTIST STATEMENT: For this protection We used only a couple of materials which was vinyl to draw on and paint markers. We decided to respond to the noise pollution aspect of birds as well as harmful architecture. Our album cover is a bird smacking onto a window and the back cover is a person looking at the bird that smacked to the window. The one specific moment that connects to our thesis is the album cover. As windows play a big role in affecting bird habitats. Leading to a lot of deathThe album itself makes noise but it’s a positive form of noise. It sort of just raises awareness on the selfish nature of humans and how we build the world to be shaped around how we live. We don’t take any other animal into consideration when shaping the world. In the world we can see this with 3rd world countries. They get exploited for their resources, their land never gets put into consideration. The first world powers just shape their world with no other thought in mind.
To wrap this up, the project helped us connect with people we haven’t talked to and be open to new ideas we couldn’t have come up with. For this project, I hope the audience gets an understatement on how city’s harmfully affect birds. The work expresses how us humans have been taking their freedom slowly. The world should start respecting bird inhabited areas, as we are taking them without thought
