GROUP ARTIST STATEMENT:
Drawing the birds has helped us have an understanding of the bird, piquing our interest how the biology between the birds and the weather collide together in both a positive and negative outcome. We used the same materials throughout and made a decision with a delegation of bringing mastered skills from each person to the table. One of the bird artist, used bird cards for poetry, it was a inspirational blast the automatically made us think tarot at the same time
Weather had initially inspired us, but individually it showed our interest in the scientific, psychological and overall, learning the scientific topics of birds sparked our interest in the spiritual world.
This project taught us responsibility and to have no fear in bringing ideas to the table because at least one idea would be used. Being with this group brought all of us joy and working with them brought many positive outcomes to our group's communications, creativity and overall joy.
We want our audience to take away from this is the awareness of how affected birds are with each weather change and each major storm. We also want them to have an understanding of the spiritual connection between us and the birds.
Leo: I am a Biology student hoping to focus in foresnics and dna analysis. I looked at this project in a scientific light in the beginning. However, the more we worked on the cards, I noticed the spirituality more and more. Science and art go hand in hand without many of us realizing it.
Hennessys: I'm an Architecture student, whose in love with nature, and continues to explore my spiritual journey. I wanted to begin creating a usable deck that shares the spiritual touch that birds carry and informs a bit about the hardships they go through, and how we can navigate through it from their messages.
Magx: As a art and spiritual believer this project has given me a chance to dive deeper into my artistic skills and learn more about the spiritaul world using birds as the bridge to deeper understanding of life. My eyes have been opened to greater operatunities and I hope to walk away with the my new knowledge of birds, art skills, and my spiritual beliefs.
