Evergreen In Memory started out as a way to deeply examine our thoughts and sentiments about nature—and what remains. Through our uniquely chosen mediums of expressing these thoughts, we as individuals have a way of inserting a piece of ourselves into the finished project. Furthermore, we wanted to explore what our connection to the natural world was as humans and the preservation of it. We aim to demonstrate that, while our specific connections are different, the underlying joy of engaging with nature is a universal human experience.

Within spoken words and shared recorded memories, we were able to uniquely link our art to our influences from nature and people. We were inspired by the works of Kenneth, who spoke about the importance of finding ways to incorporate nature into our daily lives. Another big inspiration for us was Michelle's and Jamie’s conversation about escaping to nature—and how it can bring so much peace. The moment that connected us was when we spent time and paused our thinking in nature. how each of us individually spent our time out there, different but the same.

Remembrance, preservation, and the wildlife around us blend together in a poetic statement with Evergreen In Memory. In sharing this, we hope to provide that same sense of conservation and curation that this project was able to provide for us but for you. While we extend and change, the ways that we connect will always be there waiting for the missing link.
