Event Overview
Within the Turner Fenton HOSA chapter, there will be several events offered for competition. These events will be coordinated by at least one experienced Training Coordinator to maximize that chapter's performance at SLC.
For the 2021-2022 HOSA year, the events that will be offered are:
BT - Biomedical Laboratory Sciences
CP - CPR, First Aid
DS - Dental Science
MM - Medical Math
MT - Medical Terminology
FM - Forensic Medicine
KB - Behavioural Health
KN - Nutrition
SM - Sports Medicine
VS - Veterinary Science

For information on each individual event and HOSA requirements and regulations please visit the event folders. If you are unable to determine which event to select for the upcoming year, please use consult flowchart, or feel free to contact one of the HOSA executives.
Teaching
Teaching
There are 1-2 training coordinators for each supported event. These event coordinators are experts in the events they are teaching and have experience at the national and/or international level. The classes for HOSA will be at school every week on Thursday from 3:00pm-4:00pm. Classes are separated by events being taught in order to allow one-on-one feedback from event coordinators.
Depending on the event enrolled in, general and HOSA curriculum will be taught in the form of demonstrations, PowerPoint tools, Kahoots, Quizzes, Labs, Practicals and so forth. Additionally, a new approach considered this year to enhance education and involvement of HOSA in the school community is out-of-school field trips that pertain to specific events.
