The Spring Leadership Conference (SLC) is an annual conference hosted by HOSA Canada in downtown Toronto. It is the nation's largest health science competition - with over 3 000 students participating across all HOSA events.
The competition usually takes place in downtown Toronto, where Turner Fenton chapter members will compete against other competitors from across Canada. However, depending on the state of the pandemic, SLC 2022 may be held online. Our chapter members will aim to place in the top 3 of their event to qualify for internationals. Up until then, all Turner Fenton HOSA events - whether it be regular educational meetings, guest speakers, or excursions outside of school - will aim to provide our members with as much knowledge and experience possible to succeed at competition.
By competing in SLC Chapter members will be able to apply the knowledge they have acquired about their chosen topic to a written or practical exam (or both). SLC allows members to learn and gain new skills and create amazing memories.
As such, competition at SLC represents the culmination of the chapter's hard work and effort. The overall cost of the excursion is approximately $300 - including conference fees, transportation, and accommodation.
