This objective of this assignment was to take cornell notes about the topic of the Articles of Confederation. In this format, I got to have a better understanding on what was important to the topic. This assigment challenged me to critially take out the key things of the topic rather than just copying it off from the board. When you translate the things that are being told to you into your own words, I learned that it is more easier to remeber it that way.
The task of this assigment was to complete analysis questions about the Articles of Confederation, based off of different documents. This assignment fit into the overall unit becuase me and my classmates were able to dig deeper on how the Articles of Confederation started, and what lead to the point of creating it. I enjoyed this assignment becuase since I was able to read about the Articles of Confederation from different people who witnessed it at the time, it really gives you a different point of view.
This assignement was for the Black History Month project. The task of this project was to choose either between a poem, essay, or playlist, talking about black resistence. And since I chose playlist, I had to find songs from black artists, expressing how they will forever now resist the feeling of abandment, and will fight for freedom, no matter how long it takes. This is one of my favorite projects i've done becuase I was able to listen to different genres of music coming from black people, some soothing, and some loud and firm, all talking the same topic. I've learned that Black Americans have different ways of protesting, whether it's from songs, poems, books, or even public speaking, each method is just as important.
The objective of this assignment was to read different accounts on how the abolitionist movement lead to the early women's rights movement. I liked this lesson a lot because before, I didn't even know that women had anything to do with the enslaved. But then as I went on in the lesson, I realized that both sides wanted the same thing, freedom. Women were hoping that supporting the idea of abolition of slavery would make a larger progressive movement that would influence American politics, especially to the North. This assignment represents fighting for freedom and equal oppurtunity, not just for women, but for the enslaved as well, which is an important theme in this course.
