The task of this assignment was to explain the history of Science and Theories of the Univerese, and how the talk of universal science all started. This assigment fit into the overall unit becuase before we began talking about Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, it is important to understand what life was like in Western Europe during the 16th century, also known as the Renaissance. I learned that a lot of scientists have contributed to the different discoveries that we know now, like the law of planetary motion, and heliocentric system. I was able to speak clearly and concisly for my other classmates to understand what I'm talking about.
The objective of this assignment was to write and 5 paragraph essay on how Steinback developed the major theme of frustration, and how does Steinback reveal this message in the book. One thing that I learned during this was that frustration can go a very long way. In relationships, friendships, and family, everyone goes through it, but it's just how you handle it. If you never communicate or talk about how you feel, then your problems will never go resolved. But I enjoyed this assignment because me and my classmates were able to pick different themes from the book, since there were a lot of them.
The objective of this project was to pick a brand, and from that brand choose three advertisements that showed ethos, pathos, and logos. At the end of that, we had to make our own advertisement for that brand. In my opinion, this was one of my favorite projects becuase it really opened my mind to creativity when it came to making my own ad and making me critically think about how I am going to add ethos, pathos, or logos. I learned that brands use many ways to attracted certain audiences without us even realizing it. Some may use logos, which is using logic like statistics, and factual evidence, some may use ethos, which is credibility, like for example using a celebrity in the ad that would let you know that the brand valid, and pathos, which is using your emotions, in which an ad can show you something that may make you feel happy or sad.
The objective for this project was to either choose a poem, essay, or playlist on Women's History Month. Since I chose playlist, I had to find songs that contributed to the message that women can be just as influential as men, and does not need their approval on what they do. I liked this assignment because while making this, I was able to listen throughout many different genres of music starting all the way from the 1960's. That just tells you how many years women have fought for their rights through music.
The task of this assignment was to plan out a debate with your teammates, and choose either between Mercutio, Romeo & Juliet, Capulet, and Friar Lawrence, to debate why that person is guilty for Romeo & Juliet's death. This debate challenged me because me and my teammates had to critically think about what the other teams claims would be so that we can rebuttal off of it. Adding on, each team was able to ask questions to the other teams that may be able to catch off gaurd, which also chllanged me because me and my partners had to think about what the other teams might ask so that we would be able to answer them. Overall, I enjoyed the debate a lot, and all the teams had very great points.
