US History ll Honors

This assigment was based on the Tulsa Race Riots that started on May 31st, 1921. The objective of this assignment was to read a description about a different person, and make a summary about each of their experiances during the Tulsa Race Riots. After the completion of your summary,  you had to get up and go around the room so that you can get information from other people on who they wrote about, and vice versa. When you get the information that you need, you will be able to complete all of the questions. This assignment was a glow becuase I was able to give a brief and clear summary on each person that I interveiwed. 

With this assignment, we were learning about the Great Depression in the late 20's. We got to learn about different financial terms, and how the unemployment rate affected the Gross Domestic Product greatly with charts, statistics, and graphs. This is a grow becuase I feel like I could've done a little bit better with my paragraph, and maybe going in a little bit deeper and talk about the affect of the Price Index, and National Debt. I feel like adding that information would make more of a clear understanding on just how bad the Great Depression was.

The objective of this assignment was to research and make a summary about the different New Deal Legislations that the teacher assigned to you. Based on the one you got, you would be able to talk to other people about your legislation, as well as other people being able to talk to you about theirs. I did good on this assignment becuase I was able to write down the most important facts about each legslative that was being described to me. If someone were to read it, they would have a clear understanding about what each legislative is about.

The objective of this assignment was for us to watch a video talking about the backround of wwll,  and take notes about it. The person in the video that was guiding us through it was talking pretty fast, which kind of hindered my ability to take more notes. Adding on to that, there was a lot going on in the video, so I probably got disctracted by that as well. I think the main thing that harmed my grade on this was the summary that I wrote. I think  my summary was very choppy and just skipped one event to another, and was never really detailed with it. Next time I know to make sure my summaries transition smoothly, and that the point gets across.

The objective of this assignment was to watch a video that was provided for us, and then fill out the chart as well as the following questions that came with it. This is a glow for me  becuase I was able to answer most of the questions correctly by going back to the video if I needed any help or reassurance on something. After collecting all of the data on NATO and the Warsaw Pact, I was able to write a well length paragraph discussing the differences and similarities between these two organizations, and describing the goals that were set for each one. 

The objective for this essay was for the students to pick a genocide that they wanted to write a paper on. With that, we had to include who was involved, when it took place, where it happened, what events occured during the genocide, why the specific group was massacared, and etc. I decided that I wanted to choose the Genocide of Central African Republic. I got a grow on this one becuase I did not add as much in-text citations that was suppsed to be in the paper, and I was unclear on what I was talking about, when it came to discussing how the genocide was still talking place in recent years. Next time, I'll know that I have to be careful when putting paraphrasing evidence and giving credit. I also know next time to be more clear and concise when making my paper, so that my peers and my teacher can have a clear understanding on what's going on.

The objective of this assignment was to watch a documentary about the US soldiers in the Vietnam, and the problems that occured in My Lai. After watching the documentary, we had to write a refelction about it, talking about our how we felt during the video, how we can connect it to our personal lives, and what we learned from the video. This is a glow for me becuase I was able to be honest with how I was feeling during that time and explaining how I was ignorant to not realize the importance of American soldiers serving our country. The documentary really opened my eyes to a lot of the soldiers challenges, the My Lai citizens getting killed, and how the soldiers got treated after the war was over. I gained a lot more respect for veterans and the soldiers that died thinking that they were doing something to help the country that we live in.

The objective of this assignment was to read 10 different Memorandum documents from COINTELPRO, and takes notes about who was targeted, what were the tactics to get to the target, and what amendment was violated in each document. This is a grow for me because I don't think I read every document thorougly and clearly. I may have missed some key details and may have put an amedment that didn't really represent that specific document, due to me probably getting confused. I learned that it is important to read carefully when it comes to papers like these and analyze, because there is always something that you can miss.
