I had a really good chat with Sharon De La Cruz who I saw also had an interest in museums. The entire notes from the chat are below, but key takeaways that were really inspiring were:
Our Discussion of the Cooper Hewitt Pen:
We both praised its design and intent - as well as the personalization aspect (users can save which work they liked). However, one thing we discussed was how we thought that its feature of accessing "collection" after the museum visit was pretty ignored. This lead me to the question/thought-train below:
What is the post visit experience for museum-goers? Is it mostly comprised of sharing your trip (either on social media or by discussions?)
How can technology be used to enhance whatever this experience is?

General Notes
I read this article to both explore the potential of AR as form for my final project and to see if there were any interesting ideas that I could prototype for my final project for another class, Augmented Spaces.
It ultimately wasn't the most helpful, but it lead me to conclude that AR still isn't the most familiar (The majority of the children (87%) reported that they had not experienced AR before )
Thought: AR is still developing and hasn't entered the mainstream as much as VR has outside of Pokemon Go.
Selection of Quotes:
Many museums, depending on their size, have educational officers who are responsible for the experience of the children, insuring the content has educational value and is engaging for their visit (76)
Museums need to be inclusive and with schools having children with different cognitive and physical capabilities, AR offers potential to enhance the museum experience for all. (79)
