GUIDED READING PROGRAM USING RENAISSANCE READERS AND TIER I PROGRAM HMH Into Reading curriculum:
Reading Rangers encourages substantial differentiated reading practice to create strong readers. Based on each student's independent reading level, Reading Rangers helps teachers set personalized goals for each student, and guide students to books difficult enough to keep them challenged, but not so difficult to cause frustration. Students get to read, set goals, and take tests to earn stars for their shields/badges to improve their reading stamina and graduate levels as they receive and read with purpose through guided standards-based instruction from their teachers.
HOW DOES McCAW TEACH GUIDED READING USING AR?
All learning starts with reading. It’s a skill and, as with every skill, it requires not just instruction but practice.
Our guided reading program enables the powerful practice of reading by providing data to monitor and manage substantial amounts of personalized practice and reinforce the understanding of content-area topics. It is designed to serve as the practice component of our comprehensive guided reading program.
WHAT WILL GUIDE READING THROUGH GOAL SETTING DO FOR YOUR CHILD?
Excite students. Students will be motivated to read constantly—in class, during tutoring, at lunch, at home, or anywhere.
Utilize reliable, objective data. The data covers reading comprehension, vocabulary development, literacy skills development, and much more.
Help every student master standards. Students receive a large amount of reading practice with immediate feedback. As a result, students become capable of reading increasingly complex texts at high levels of understanding – and scores improve on state tests.
Improve students’ attitudes toward learning. Success spurs enthusiasm, higher attendance, fewer discipline problems, and better attitudes.
Challenge all students. Students are guided to books where the level of difficulty is neither too hard nor too easy—and the level at which optimal learning takes place.

LEXIA AND READING PLUS:
Silent reading is all around us. It’s how we navigate our world. To become independent, lifelong learners, students must be able to successfully transition from foundational skill development to independent silent reading. Lexia Core 5 and Reading Plus help students transition from “learning to read” to “reading to learn” by building the unseen and unheard skills that make comprehension possible and learning inevitable. Each student follows a personalized learning path, with adaptive placement and pacing in activities designed specifically for the Common Core and the most rigorous state standards.
EXACT PATH:
Meets students where they are! Exact Path can quickly close discrete skill gaps and propel learning with an adaptive and individualized learning path. It is used to diagnose specific strengths and needs, remediate the first signs of struggle, and analyze data to drive targeted tiered instruction.
