Standard Student Attire

CCSD McCaw ES Standard Student Attire (SSA)

Clark County School District Regulation 5131, Dress and Appearance, is a policy at McCaw that requires students to wear Standard Student Attire for the purpose of increasing student achievement, promoting safety, and enhancing a positive school climate.

Tops & Bottoms

Colors and styles of outerwear, such as jackets and coats, are not required to meet the color/style specifications of Standard Student Attire when worn during recess or outside during PE.

All items of clothing must be in basic solid colors with no patterns, words, or brand logos. Acceptable colors are:


*White

*Gray

*Purple

*Navy blue (no light blue)

*Khaki

Visible jewelry, studs, and other items that are attached by body piercing and are considered by the administration to be a safety issue or disruption to the school setting will be prohibited.

The hair color of an unnatural hue (green, blue, etc.), mohawks, and/or any hairstyle that becomes distracting to the educational setting due to an unusual cut or controversial style will be prohibited.

SPIRIT DAY REGULATIONS:

No wearing crop tops (no skin showing between bottom of shirt/blouse and top of pants or skirts), strapless, low-cut clothing, clothing with slits, or tops and outfits that provide minimum coverage.

No wearing clothing with spaghetti straps. All sleeveless shirts must have straps at least three inches wide and cover the shoulder.

All students are required to wear the adopted school attire.  Violations will result in disciplinary action in alignment with the school-based progressive discipline plan.
