City of Henderson Parks and Recreation will be providing a Safekey program at McCaw STEAM Academy Elementary School.
Safekey hours:
7:15a.m. to 9:00a.m.
3:40p.m. to 6:00p.m.
The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department offers Safekey, a before- and after-school recreational enrichment program, at all Henderson elementary schools. This fun-filled program focuses on crafts, games, cooking and special activities as an alternative while parents work. The program offers a variety of stimulating activities designed to help your child grow socially, emotionally and physically, as well as homework time and a USDA-approved nutritional snack. Recreation staff, school district teachers and support staff make up the nucleus for quality instruction and school support. Safekey follows the Clark County School District calendar.
When school isn't in session (school vacations, etc.), kids can take part in Kids Zone, which complements the Safekey program. Visit the Kids Zone page to learn more or ask at your Safekey site.
Safekey Program Information
Payments are accepted at all recreation centers, by mail and through our online registration system.
Registration is ongoing at all Safekey sites during Safekey hours (Monday-Friday before school and from dismissal time until 6:00 p.m.). Payments are due by 6:00 pm the Wednesday prior to the week attending. Payments received after Wednesday of the week prior will then be charged a daily drop-in rate. Payments can be made at any recreation center, by mail or online. A fee will be assessed for late pickups at $10 for every 10 minutes, beginning at closing. For additional information, please call the Safekey office at (702) 267-4100. Drop-ins are welcome (sorry, no hourly rates). Daily rates are effective after closing on Wednesday. Safekey/Teen Scene families are eligible for multiple child discount rates. Financial assistance is available for qualified families. Check with your Safekey site for rates or call (702) 267-4100.
