What if I'm absent from school?

If you are absent from school, you are still responsible for the missed lesson/assignment.  PLEASE DON'T FALL BEHIND!  Assuming you are healthy enough for schoolwork, refer to Google Classroom to see what was done in class when you were absent and complete your work while you are home.

Completing a Missed Lesson or Missed Assignment

When you are absent, you should refer to the current schedule posted on Google Classroom to determine what was planned for the missed day(s).  Typically, you will be directed to visit the class site to watch a video and participate in the featured lesson as though you were actually present in the classroom.  If the lesson requires any handouts, you probably already have them in your current math packet.  But if not, all handouts can be viewed and printed from the class site in section of the webpage for the missed day.  If there is no new lesson/video for that day, then please complete whatever other work has been assigned.  The Google Classroom post will explain it all.

Asking Questions When Absent

Aside from tests, you can use Google Classroom and this site to find everything you need to learn your lessons, complete your assignments, and keep up with your classmates whenever you are absent.  Even though you are expected to work independently while you are out, you are not completely alone.  If you are absent and you are confused, then please send your questions to Mr. Rogers via email.  Please make your questions as specific as possible so Mr. Rogers knows how to help you.  If you're asking about a specific problem, please include photos of the original question AND the attempt you have made.

Presenting Missed Work

Upon returning to school, you should immediately present any work that was due on the day of the absence or that was assigned on the day of the absence.  Alternatively, you may be able to send a picture of that work via email.  Sending work via email would be particularly important if you are absent for multiple days.  If you have an extended absence, please complete your work each day, take a picture of each page, and submit those pictures via email that day.  Attach multiple pictures to the same email if a single assignment is on multiple pages.  But please use a separate email for each assignment if you are submitting multiple assignments.

Completing a Missed Test

If a test was missed during the absence, then immediately make an appointment to make up the test.  Use Mr. Rogers' Google Form to make the appointment and choose the closest possible date.  If you have any questions about your appointment, then speak with Mr. Rogers or send him an email.  You can use the link below to access the appointment form.
