QUARTER 4 ASSESSMENTS (4/21/20 - 6/26/20)

  1. "Probability & Independence of Events" (Date Is To Be Announced) -- Students must be able to complete 2-way tables (and/or Venn diagrams) with numerical data and/or probabilities, use information that is presented in a 2-way table, distinguish conditional probabilities from non-conditional probabilities, determine both conditional probabilities and non-conditional probabilities, know and apply the tests for the independence of events. This test grade is based on a 32 point total. But the test's weight is 1.563. Therefore, this test is worth as much as a 50 point assessment in the marking period's point total. (Test Return Date: XX/XX/XX)

  2. "Regents Review Test 1" (Date Is To Be Announced) -- This test will consist of questions based on questions found in the January 2017 Regents Examination. NOTE: Most questions on this test are short-answer in spite of the fact that the original question on which the question was based may have been multiple-choice. (Test Return Date: XX/XX/XX)

  3. "Preliminary Statistics (Traditional Topics)" (Date Is To Be Announced) -- Students must know the similarities and differences between methods of gathering data, recognize when data is likely to be biased, understand the difference between a population and a sample, determine the values of statistical variables when given a set of data (including minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile, maximum, mean, mode, interquartile range, variance, and standard deviation), know the characteristics of normally distributed data and be able to apply that knowledge to solve problems, and solve problems involving the mean of a set of data. (Test Return Date: XX/XX/XX)

  4. "HW Completion" (4/21/20 - 5/1/20) -- Homework is assigned nearly every day. This homework grade is a two-week accumulation of points earned during frequent spot checks. On days that homework is checked, an assignment that has been completed in its entirety, has appropriate work shown, and has been presented on time will be considered complete and receive full credit. Homework assignments that are incomplete or that are completed one day late will receive only partial credit. This homework grade is based on completion, not accuracy. Please remember that it is the responsibility of absentees to present their work. Barring extraordinary circumstances, absentees who neglect to present their make-up homework upon their return will not receive credit.

  5. "Statistics in Common Core - Test 1" (Date Is To Be Announced) -- Students must know the similarities and differences between methods of gathering data, know the differences between sample statistics and population characteristics, be able to define intervals using the "±" symbol, be able to estimate the mean and standard deviation of a set of data, make judgements about a set of data based on a comparison to the results of a simulation, determine the margin of error for a sample proportion, solve problems involving the mean of a set of data, calculate normal distribution probabilities, calculate and compare z-scores, and determine confidence intervals. (Test Return Date: XX/XX/XX)

  6. "HW Completion" (5/4/20 - 5/15/20) -- See previous description of HW Completion.

  7. "Regents Review Test 2" (Date Is To Be Announced) -- This test will consist of questions based on questions found in the June 2016 Regents Examination. NOTE: Most questions on this test are short-answer in spite of the fact that the original question on which the question was based may have been multiple-choice. (Test Return Date: XX/XX/XX)

  8. "Statistics in Common Core - Test 2" (6/4/19) -- Students must know the similarities and differences between methods of gathering data, recognize when a set of data is likely to be biased, determine sample statistics, estimate standard deviation, determine margin of error, use margin of error to determine plausible intervals for a population characteristic, understand how margin of error can be decreased, make judgements about a population based on sample statistics and a comparison to the results of a simulation, describe how an experiment should be conducted, use a randomization distribution to judge whether or not the results of an experiment are statistically significant. (Test Return Date: XX/XX/XX)

  9. "HW Completion" (5/18/20 - 5/29/20) -- See previous description of HW Completion.

  10. "Regents Review Test 3" (Date Is To Be Announced) -- This test will consist of questions based on questions found in the August 2016 Regents Examination, the Sample Questions of Spring 2015, and the Sample Questions of Fall 2015. NOTE: Most questions on this test are short-answer in spite of the fact that the original question on which the question was based may have been multiple-choice. (Test Return Date: XX/XX/XX)

  11. "HW Completion" (6/1/20 - 6/17/20) -- See previous description of HW Completion.

  12. Algebra II Regents Examination (Date/Time To Be Announced) -- Mr. Rogers' Period 5, 6, and 8 students will take this exam in Rooms XXX, XXX, and XXX, respectively.
