QUARTER 2 ASSESSMENTS (11/12/19 - 1/31/20)

  1. "Regression Unit Test" (11/7/19--This test was actually given during Quarter 1, but it will be counted in each student's 2nd quarter average.) -- Students will determine and use linear and exponential regression equations. Students will determine correlation coefficients and must understand their significance. (Test Return Date: 11/14/19)
  2. "Statistics" (11/19/19) -- Students must be able to determine the mean, median, mode, and range for given sets of data. Students must be able to solve problems related to the mean of a set of data. Students must be able to simplify expressions presented in sigma notation. (Test Return Date: 11/26/19 or 12/3/19)
  3. "Classwork Completion" (11/12/19 - 11/22/19) -- Consider this grade to be a measure of a student's level of effort. This grade is a two-week accumulation of points that I awarded based on several days of monitoring completion of class notes, classwork completion, class preparation, cooperative participation, and attentiveness. Any grade lower than a perfect grade is an indication that a student did not follow through with some of his/her in-class responsibilities.
  4. "HW Completion" (11/12/19 - 11/22/19) -- This grade is a two-week accumulation of points that I awarded based on checks of homework completion. In order to earn full credit, homework assignments must be presented on time and must be completed in their entirety with all work shown. Full credit will be awarded only if a valid attempt has been presented on paper for all assigned questions (even if questions have been answered incorrectly).
  5. "Normal Distribution" (12/4/19) -- Students must be able to determine the mean and standard deviation of a given set of data. Students must be able to use the characteristics of normally distributed data and a normal curve to solve problems. (Test Return Date: 12/11/19)
  6. "Classwork Completion" (11/25/19 - 12/6/19) -- See previous description.
  7. "HW Completion" (11/25/19 - 12/6/19) -- This grade is a two-week accumulation of points that I awarded based on checks of homework completion. In order to earn full credit, homework assignments must be presented on time and must be completed in their entirety with all work shown. Full credit will be awarded only if a valid attempt has been presented on paper for all assigned questions (even if questions have been answered incorrectly).
  8. "Introduction to Combinatorics" (12/12/19) -- Students must be able to represent all possible outcomes of a given situation using a tree diagram and/or a sample space. Students must be able to use the counting principle and/or factorials to solve problems. (Test Return Date: 12/20/19)
  9. "Classwork Completion" (12/9/19 - 12/23/19) -- See previous description.
  10. "HW Completion" (12/9/19 - 12/23/19) -- See previous description.
  11. "Permutations, Combinations, and Probability" (12/23/19) -- Students must be able to evaluate permuations, combinations, and factorials and know which of these should be applied to given situations and solve related problems. Students must be able to answer basic probability questions, create tree diagrams to represent given situations (both with and without replacement), and use them to determine probabilities. (Test Return Date: 1/9/20)
  12. "Circles: Area, Circumference, Central Angles, Arcs" (1/10/20) -- Students must be able to determine the area/circumference of a circle when given a circle's radius, diameter, area, or circumference. Students must be able to identify the arcs corresponding to central angles in a given circle and vice-versa. Students must be able to solve basic problems related to given arc/central angle measures. (Test Return Date: 1/17/20)
  13. "Classwork Completion" (1/6/20 - 1/17/20) -- See previous description.
  14. "HW Completion" (1/6/20 - 1/17/20) -- See previous description.
  15. "Circle Angles - Inscribed, Central, Two Chords" (1/22/20) -- Students must be able to solve problems when given measures of arcs, central angles, inscribed angles, and/or intersecting chords in circles. (Test Return Date: 1/24/20)
  16. "Classwork Completion" (1/21/20 - 1/31/20) -- See previous description.
  17. "HW Completion" (1/21/20 - 1/31/20) -- See previous description.
