NKY Health encourages (but does not require) all staff to engage in a regular program of exercise and health improvement (unless existing health related conditions make such a program inadvisable).
Worksite Wellness Coordinator
A Worksite Wellness Coordinator will be designated and their responsibilities will include:
Overseeing the planning, implementation and evaluation of the NKHD wellness programs.
Coordinating needs assessments, using staff surveys and health risk assessment data, in order to identify wellness needs and interests of staff and to measure progress on achieving goals.
Providing information to Division Directors.
Convening and chairing meetings of the Worksite Wellness Committee.
Coordinating the activities of the site representatives.
Worksite Wellness Committee
A Worksite Wellness Committee composed of staff representing each site and/or division will be responsible for:
Reviewing assessment and evaluation data and using the data to develop policy and program recommendations.
Assisting in coordination of wellness efforts at his or her respective building site and/or division and communicating information.
Attending/participating in Worksite Wellness Committee meetings.
Staff Participation and Promotion of Activities
NKY Health supports staff participation in worksite wellness activities. Staff participation in wellness activities is voluntary.
NKY Health provides awareness and education messages by including worksite wellness information in new staff orientation, posting flyers on walls or bulletin boards, and sending email correspondence.
Supervisory and management staff should allow for time away from regular duties for staff to attend on-site wellness and health programs not considered directly work-related, to the extent practicable.
Supervisors and managers are also encouraged to be flexible when worksite wellness committee members are asked to meet to plan and implement programs.
Budget
Funds for worksite wellness programs will be allocated annually in the appropriate cost center budget, to the extent the budget allows.
