Dear TWDL Parents, 

The first two weeks of school are an exciting time for all of us as we embark on a new adventure of learning, growth, and discovery. We understand that the start of the school year can be both exciting and a bit nerve-wracking, especially for our new students and families. Rest assured, we are committed to creating a warm and welcoming environment where each student feels valued and supported.This year, our program has expanded to 11 classes, with four new, excellent teachers joining our professional and dedicated team. We also welcomed about 45 new families into our community. Together, we look forward to a wonderful year filled with exciting learning opportunities, meaningful experiences, and strong community connections.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. Together, we will make this a successful and memorable school year!

学校的第一周对我们所有人来说都是一个令人兴奋的时刻，我们一同踏上了学习、成长和发现新冒险的旅程。我们理解新学年的开始既令人兴奋，也有点紧张，尤其是对于我们的新学生和家庭来说。请您放心，我们致力于创造一个温馨和热情的环境，让每位学生都感受到被重视和支持。今年，我们的课程扩展到了11个班级，新增了4名优秀的新教师加入我们敬业、专业的教师团队。我们还有大约45个新家庭加入了我们项目。一起，我们期待着一个充满令人兴奋的学习机会、有意义的经历和与社区紧密合作的美好一年。感谢您将您的孩子的教育托付给我们。一起，我们将会让24-25 学年成为一个成功而难忘的一年！

Both Ms. Hang and Ms. Chang have moved on to new opportunities due to family needs and career plans. This year, I will be fully returning to my role as an instructional coach, focusing on curriculum development, supporting our teachers, and supporting the program management.

During our last parent committee meeting, there was a request for a central resource where parents can access all important information. In response, I’ve created the EML TWDL Parent 411, which includes essential information for our families. It’s still a work in progress, so if you have any suggestions or think of additional information that would be helpful to include, please don’t hesitate to reach out. The goal is to make things more convenient for our families and to encourage greater involvement.

由于家庭需要和职业规划，Hang老师和Chang老师离开我们开启了她们的新旅程。今年，我将全职回归教学指导的角色，专注于课程开发、教师支持以及支持项目管理。

在上一次的家长委员会会议中，家长们提出希望有一个集中获取所有重要信息的地方。为此，我创建了EML 双向双语家长411，涵盖了对我们家庭来说重要的信息。这仍在持续完善中，所以如果您有任何建议或想到其他重要信息需要添加，请随时告诉我。我们的目标是为家长们带来便利，并鼓励更多的参与。

Parent Committee Meeting and Workshop 

家长委员会和家长工作坊

Parent involvement plays a pivotal role in fortifying our program and providing enhanced support for our students. Consistent parent workshops and parent committee meetings serve to maintain an open line of communication between the school and families. 

Parent committee assumes a critical role in discussing and addressing program-related matters collectively. A well-organized committee contributes to the advancement of our TWDL Mandarin program, enhancement of its quality, and better support for our students and families. Parent workshops are tailored for parents to learn about Chinese language and culture. Over the past years, the two meetings alternate every other month. This year, we will continue this schedule. Our Parent Committee meeting will kick off in September, followed by a parent workshop in October. As soon as all the dates are confirmed, we will share them with you.

Recognizing the importance of your input, both meetings are open to all parents associated with TWDL. We encourage parents to actively participate in these meetings, sharing your perspectives and offering constructive suggestions. Your engagement will greatly assist us in strengthening and refining our program.  For us to better arrange the meetings, Please take a few minutes to fill out this form by August 26, 2024.

持续而又连贯的家长工作坊和委员会有助于家长沟通，建立良好的合作关系，从而更有效地帮助我们的学生。去年这两个会议是每月交替进行的。今年我们会继续这个模式。我们将在九月份进行委员会会议，十月月份开始家长工作坊。 一旦我们最终敲定日期，我们通知家长所有的会议时间。 

家长委员会在帮组我们联合家长的力量共同讨论我们中文项目的相关问题和建立良好的家校合作方面起到了至关重要的作用。一个运行良好的委员会会帮我们提升我们的项目，提高我们的教学质量，以及更好地支持我们的学生和家庭。一旦委员会成立，我们的会员会参加我们每两月一次的会议互相倾听家长们的心声，提出并商议建设性的建议来加强我们的项目。另外，该委员会没有名额限制，我们欢迎所有的家长参加。家长工作坊是给我们的家长提供学习中文语言和文化的机会。请您在百忙中抽出时间完成这份问卷以便让我们更好地了解您的需求，并安排会议。截止日期2024年8月26日。
