Dear Parents,
Happy Lunar New Year! Wishing you and your loved ones a prosperous Year of the Snake.
This past week was busy yet productive, we celebrated Lunar New Year with various activities, including a school assembly that brought excitement, afternoon booth activities that exposed the entire school community, and a staff luncheon that delighted both hearts and taste buds. I hope the evening showcases and Union City event brought joy and entertainment to all our families.
These events created valuable learning experiences and lasting memories for our students. A big THANK YOU to our amazing parent volunteers—your support made everything run smoothly. Without your support, we could hardly make it. As our program expands, we’re truly grateful for your continued support. We will be sharing videos and photos soon.
TWDL Parent Workshop #3 / 双向双语中文项目家长工作坊
Our next parent workshop is scheduled for Thursday, February 20, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. I will guide parents in exploring The 2025 CCTV Spring Festival Gala, which was broadcast on January 28, 2025. This program showcased a diverse array of performances that beautifully blended traditional Chinese culture with modern elements. The Spring Festival Gala is often referred to as a "spiritual feast" for the New Year, attracting audiences not only from across China but also worldwide. During the workshop, I will share notable highlights through presentations and video clips. We warmly welcome you to join us!
Additionally, Mr. Xu will introduce WuXi, his hometown, a southern city renowned for its breathtaking scenery of mountains and water. As always, we will conclude the workshop with a fun Kahoot game.
Please mark your calendars! We look forward to seeing you there. Here is the meeting information.

EML SuperHero Family Reading Night |盖英小学超级英雄家庭阅读夜
Our SuperHero Family reading night is scheduled for 2/28 from 5:30-7:00 pm. The objective for the event is to foster a love for reading among students and their families by creating a collaborative, engaging, and supportive environment that promotes literacy, strengthens the school-home connection, and equips families with strategies to support their children's reading development. Thank you to the parents who have filled out the survey, your feedback gives us a general number count and better ideas to design workshops to accommodate your needs. If you haven’t done so yet, here is the link.
As of now, we still need 5 tents. If you can contribute one to the event, please email me directly. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Two Important surveys |两项重要家长问卷
It's time to prepare for staffing and curriculum planning for the next school year. To assist with this, we need a general count of students. Parents, please take a few minutes to complete the Parental Intention form—your input will be extremely helpful.
Additionally, we’ve received about 60 feedback responses to the TWDL Parent survey so far. If you haven’t shared your feedback yet, please fill out the form here ( Pick one of the following three). We value your input and are committed to improving our program to better meet our students' needs.
