Happy Halloween
Week 11-12 |10/16-10/27
Hi Parents,
Happy Week 11! We sincerely appreciate your participation in our Jogathon activity and your generous donation. Your contributions are of immense value, and the funds will be utilized to enhance a wide range of extracurricular activities and events, enriching the campus life for our students. As we approach November 3rd, which marks the end of Trimester 1, we want to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of all our TWDL teachers in establishing connections with every parent for parent-teacher conferences. It's important to emphasize that these conferences are primarily focused on supporting students who may benefit from additional academic assistance, but our teachers have gone above and beyond in meeting with all our parents.
Here is update of Week 11.
Parent Learning Corner |
I would like to remind parents that the content in the "Parent Learning Corner" section of my newsletter is worth reading or watching. This information allows you to connect with parents outside of our school, gain an understanding of how immersion programs benefit our students, and acquire strategies to address the challenges you may be facing. In the video I shared below, which is moderated by the author of the "Parent's Guide to Mandarin Immersion," several parents with children in Mandarin immersion programs share their experiences and challenges.

This is one of the plenaries of the 2022 National Chinese Language Conference, and it was a moderated conversation with parents, exploring the motivations behind prioritizing Chinese language in their child's education and the challenges they face.
Moderator Elizabeth Weise, Reporter at USA Today, Founder of the Mandarin Immersion Parents Council blog, and the author of A Parent's Guide to Mandarin Immersion. Elizabeth posed the question to the panelists, “Why did you choose Mandarin immersion? What helped you on that journey and what advice would you give parents coming into the system?”
