12th Grade
Senior Year
School Counselors continue their work with seniors beginning with small counselor group meetings to review the application process. This is followed by individual meetings with each senior to dicsuss their application plan and how to support them through the process.
First Semester
Continue the postsecondary planning process
Attend group meeting with School Counselors related to the application timeline and process
Parent/Guardians attend the Senior Postsecondary Planning Night
Continue to explore colleges and programs
Visit campuses
Meet with college reps who visit Needham High in the Fall
Meet individually with School Counselor (as many times as needed)
Talk in detail about your specific plan(s)
Submit applications for early deadlines (typically Nov. 1) and plan for Regular Decision deadlines (typically 1/1 or so)
Start the Financial Aid process. FAFSA is available Oct. 1
Explore Scholarship Opportunities (check Classroom for resources)
Second Semester
Attend Accepted Students days where possible/appropriate
Submit deposit to college attending by May 1st
ED acceptances require deposits shortly after acceptance
All other acceptances allow for a May 1 deposit
Complete all graduation obligations
