The Scoir Teacher Experience : this includes a helpful 6 minute video tutorial to get you acquainted with Scoir. Embedded in this 6 minute tutorial is an additional 4 minute "Watch a quick walkthrough of the updates" from Scoir we highly recommend you watch as well.  

Some highlights to be aware of:

• If you receive an invitation via email from Common APP directly to complete a letter of recommendation, please continue to ignore this request. The NHS Counseling Department will send your recommendation through Scoir.

• In your Scoir account, Scoir has added a few brief required questions at the begining, which you should complete. In addition, there is  an optional student ratings section. We do not recommend completing this section. 

• You can either elect to write your recommendation directly in Scoir, use the letterhead provided in Scoir, or upload a PDF using the school letterhead (provided above: "B/W Letterhead").

• Once school materials are sent by the Counseling Department, your recommendation will automatically go. There is no need to continue to check to see if a student has added more requests for you to process. 

• You should not write your recommendation for each specific college. You will only need to write one "universal" recommendation/student.

Post-Secondary Recommendation Process

Please remember, if you agree to write on behalf of a senior, you are also agreeing to have your recommendation completed and uploaded into Scoir by October 1st. While this may not be the application deadline the senior is trying to meet, the counseling department needs ample time to make sure all school materials, including your recommendation, are in order to send to meet the admission deadline. With over 80% of a given senior class applying to at least one higher education institution, this is a significant lift. Your help in meeting the October 1st deadline is greatly appreciated.
