Interview with Mr. O'Hara By: Mya Bradford
Mr. O’Hara, if you don’t know, is a student teacher for Ms. Mastrine’s Science classes. I interviewed him on March, 26, 2022. I chose to interview him because he’s a very good teacher and I enjoy having him… He will be leaving our school May 6, 2022.
Q: What is your favorite part about teaching?
A: My favorite part about teaching is interacting with and getting to know the students. Growing closer to them while teaching is always exciting especially when you get to see them grow throughout the school year.
Q: Why do you want to become a teacher?
A: Teaching is such a cool profession that allows you to share something that you love (in my case Science) and help students find what they love at the same time.
Q: Why did you choose to study Science?
A: Science has always been my favorite subject! Even outside of school, I found that a lot of my hobbies and interests were always dedicated to Science. Now I get the opportunity to share what I love with my students and possibly get them interested in it as well.
Q: What was your first reaction of the school?
A: Northern Cambria is a warm, inviting place for new people. My first day was filled with kind introductions and friendly faces and that has not changed at all even today. Ms. Mastrine welcomed me with open arms and made the school such a comfortable place to teach and grow. The students have made my job so enjoyable from day one. The conversations that I have had with them and the kindness they showed me will always stick with me. Classic Northern Cambria.
Q: What is one thing you are going to miss about the school?
A: There is so much that I am going to miss when I leave in May. However, what I will miss the most is the people. I have already grown so close to the teachers and the students in my time here. Northern Cambria will always hold a special place in my heart.
