On May 1, 2025, Gamma Kappa Chapter members came together to honor a year marked by service, leadership, and meaningful achievements. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of The Order of the Long Leaf Pine to Camille Grupy, one of North Carolina’s highest civilian honors. Camille was recognized for her decades of outstanding service to education and her community. Her leadership, compassion, and unwavering dedication have left a lasting legacy on Gamma Kappa and beyond.
The chapter also proudly celebrated members who have shown long-term commitment to Delta Kappa Gamma, presenting Legacy Pins and Certificates to those with 20 to 50 years of service:
20-Year Members: Linda Mercer 28 Years, Rebecca Ganjehsani 28 Years, Linda Mercer 21 Years
30-Year Members: Marilyn Ellerbe 38 Years, Eleanor Getz 35 Years, Vicki Smith 33 Years
40-Year Members: Gwen Simmons 46 Years, Ann Rowell 46 Years, Camille Grupy 45 Years
50-Year Members: Mary Salter Horne 53 years
The meeting was a moving tribute to the power of women supporting women, and a reminder of the deep impact educators can make over time.
