On October 18, 2025, the Alpha Beta Chapter of Johnston County held its first ever Low Country Boil social. The event invited spouses to meet the “sisters” and put faces to the friends with whom members spend so much time!
Twelve members and ten spouses attended the gathering at 2024 Golden Key recipient Lorine Davis’ home in Four Oaks, NC. Several menfolk graciously commandeered the boiling pot of shrimp, crab legs, clams, potatoes, andouille sausage, and corn-on-the-cob. Members provided appetizers, sides, and desserts.
Everyone enjoyed eating. Spouses connected with each other - most for the first time - and the fellowship was engaging and fun! Making room for social interaction within a chapter calendar provides time to refocus attention on the blessings within the chapter, not only on business.
Spending quality time together definitely strengthened the bonds and furthered the vitality of Alpha Beta. Good friends! Good food! Good times!
