• Class: Bronchodilator

• Action: Binds and stimulates the beta2 receptors, resulting in relaxation of the bronchial smooth muscles

• Indications: Asthma, bronchitis with bronchospasms, and COPD

• Adverse Effects: palpitations, sinus tachycardia, anxiety, tremors, nausea/vomiting, throat irritation, dry mouth, hypertension, dyspepsia, headache, paradoxical bronchospasms

• Contraindications: Angioedema, sensitivity to albuterol or levalbuterol.

• Special Considerations: pregnancy Class C

• Nebulized 2.5mg/3ml with oxygen at 6-8 lpm

Pediatrics:

• 1.25mg

>2 y/o:

• 2.5mg
