Accident Reporting

The definition for each term is:

• Accident - An unexpected event that causes damage, injury or harm. 

• Incident - An unexpected event that takes place, but may not result in damage, harm or injury.

• Near Miss - An incident that has the potential to cause harm, loss or injury.

Step 1) Contact the University.

• Please contact the University Security Team (0114 225 2000 – Control Room, City Campus Security) and explain you are a part of a Sport Club. 

• They are contactable over the weekend and are available 24 hours a day to report any incident(s).

Step 2) Report the incident to Sport Hallam.

• • If this does occur, please also complete the Accident Reporting Form below (for Sport Hallam Notification).

  • Depending on where the accident, incident or near miss takes place it may be that other venues/event/staff or reporting procedures are in place and likely to be your immediate reporting priority. However, please do ensure you keep Sport Hallam informed of any accident, incidents or near misses too.
