About The Project...
The Arts: Tattoo + Gallery is a tattoo studio and gallery space focused on the form of the body and the understanding of it as a canvas. Users that enter this space will be able to see many forms of art focused on the body such as sculpture and paintings as well as experience the body as a canvas through a tattoo viewing room as well as a dedicated studio on the second floor.
The Goal...
The goal for this project is to allow for a space with a wider range of influence to describe to viewers the importance of self expression in any creative way. As we continue in society, tattoos have begun to lose their taboo. In this space, that taboo is not only celebrated but demonstrated for all to appreciate and come to understand.

The gallery's material palette remains to be neutral as to not take away from the exhibits and art pieces. The challenge however was the placement of each material as to not be too barren and too overpowering.

The tattoo studio was to be reminiscent to that of a home. Artists reside here and the space becomes an extension of them, users should be able to see and understand the artists not only for their work but recognize them as a spatial experience as well.
