Pawsitive Change is an animal-assisted therapy facility that focuses on building relationships between clients, the facility staff, and the rescue animals. In doing so, this facility provides a supportive community for those struggling with mental health challenges. This community-feel aims to open lines of communication regarding mental health and in doing so, remove the stigma that is typically attached to mental health facilities.
CONCEPT
CONCEPT
The facility aims to provide a calming, inviting, and familiar atmosphere that patients will feel comfortable to come to. To accomplish this, the design took inspiration from the natural environment.
"A calming and familiar space that utilizes the symbiotic healing relationship between animals and patients to foster a sense of community. This development of community assists in eliminating the stigma that is typically associated with mental health facilities."
