Eden & Ivy initially transpired as a reflection of the functional intent and symbolic nature of a wellness center. In creating a space in which users feel their happiest, “Eden” is often referred to as a place of sheer delight, where individuals from all walks of life are provided the opportunity to come together and support one another. “Ivy” symbolizes the vitality of nature, and the physical connection between primary and secondary spaces within the center and its users. Eden & Ivy is an environment intended to support the growth and constant development of its users, on their journey to self-love and fulfilling “delight.” The creation of this center was founded on a passion for health and wellness; an interest to create a more space that provides various services and hands-on experiences to better one's life, and to, in turn, inspire and promote growth. VALUES, GOALS + ATMOSPHERIC INTENT

The goal and core values of Eden & Ivy are intended to uplift, nurture, inspire and motivate users as they embark on their personal journeys through life. This center is metaphorically lending a helping hand to navigate through such a journey, as it’s often not linear or simply found. In creating a nurturing, motivating atmosphere, the design of Eden & Ivy heavily focuses on the incorporation of biophilic elements, patterns and forms while also engaging the five senses. It’s evident that the design of the built environment can largely influence human behavior, and mental, physical and emotional well-being. Various design elements such as color, lighting and materiality, can directly impact and stimulate users' senses, enhancing their overall experience. Within, the consumer options and atmospheric qualities will help engage, aid and inspire users to healthier ways of living.

FUNCTIONAL + CONCEPTUAL DIRECTION

In achieving the desired values and atmospheric and experiential intent, the center houses various primary and secondary spaces including a café, wellness retail shops, along with wellness workshops to provide tactile experiences. All of these reflections and design elements resulted in the concept of Eden and ivy as “a multi use space designed to engage users' senses as they self reflect, commit to discovery, instill new habits and promote renewal. The nurturing, secure and inspiring environment restores a sense of healing and well-being through natural light, organic materials and biophilic elements.”
