I think many are nervous about the Assessment course. I was worried about it too, but upon reflection, this was an excellent course to take at the beginning of my program because it provided me with the structure I would need in creating my lessons throughout MAFLT.
My own students fear assessment. Perhaps because many have experienced learning challenges such as dyslexia, social anxiety, or depression, they tend to shut down at the mention of the work "test." This course taught me that I can structure my assessments in ways that are non-threatening and supportive of student learning styles. The Language Portfolio is an assessment tool that I am continually improving upon. The samples I provide here are based on the European Language Portfolio which is also popular in Japan in recent years. The video here is embedded from Kultura.
