The Program Development course had a profound effect on how I conduct myself on campus. I used to feel under appreciated - I am the only language teacher on a campus that specializes in artists - I felt pushed to the back of the Liberal Arts department because I did not have the confidence to shout out over the top of art historians and poets. But now I do. I confidently display my student work around campus, on websites like Lead with Languages, apply (and receive) grants, started a chapter of a foreign language honorary society, and co-founded a professional organization.
