The McLaren Memorial Garden, which is part of the McLaren Health Management Group, was started in the fall of 2003. It is situated in the northeast part of the building next to the Cottage of Davison which is an assisted living facility for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. Most of the garden is in sun for parts of the day with plantings of tall grasses, crab apple trees, weeping Norway Spruce, hydrangeas, peonies, roses, daylilies, coneflowers, phlox and Siberian iris to name a few. The garden is bordered by Arborvitae, white spruce, viburnums, and willows. There is also a shady part of the garden filled with hosta. Besides Master Gardeners, members of the Genesee Green Team garden club assist with maintenance in the garden.
