Students undertake practical sessions where they will expand techniques in the kitchen and explore how food changes when cooked. Students will discover how different ingredients are used in recipes, where foods come from and how they are grown and processed. Students will also discover the impact growing and making food has on the environment and changes that may need to be made in order to feed the world’s growing population. Students will discover the impact food waste has on the environment and what communities suffer from food insecurity. We will look into alternative food sources, advancements in technology helping us to produce enough food to feed the world's population and how producing food has changed over time. Food for Life involves problem solving, management, decision making and how to make healthy food choices that will support you in the future.

Woodwork is an area of learning in which students gain knowledge to develop skills through designing, using appropriate tools, machines, mechanisms and resources to produce practical results. This course is designed to enable students to acquire a variety of hand skills, design considerations/constraints and safe working habits. This is achieved through the construction of projects encompassing necessary processes, various hand tools and materials. This subject is preparation for further studies in woodwork and VCE Product Design & Technology (Wood) and provides students with an introduction to skills that would be required in the various wood trades, such as carpentry, cabinet making, building and construction, etc.

Machines are an integral part of everyday life, and their automation has become the forefront of human development. This course explores how robots are designed, programmed, and used. Students will create, use, and program robots, along with studying how robot development has affected society as a whole. By the end of this course students should be able to navigate a robotic interface, and be able to design simple robots for everyday use.
