The VCAA publishes the official guidelines for the Victorian Certificate of Education in the "VCE Administrative Handbook".
The minimum requirement for achieving the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) is the satisfactory completion of 16 units, which must include:
• three units from the English group, including a Unit 3–4 sequence
• at least three other sequences of Unit 3–4 studies, which can include further sequences from the English group.
A student must also achieve a 90% attendance rate to satisfy VCE course requirements.
The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) advises that satisfactory completion of a scored Unit 3–4 sequence from the English group of studies is required for the calculation of a student’s Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
At Mount Erin, students will normally complete 22 units towards their VCE - 12 units in year 11 (6 sequences) and 10 units in year 12 (5 sequences).
