VCE-VM at Mount Erin
VCE:VM is a unique applied learning program designed to provide students with practical work-related educational experience.
VCE:VM is a Two year vocational and applied learning program, within VCE, for students in Year 11 and 12 at AQF level 2-3.
VCE-VM is a great way to transition into Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Further Education & Training, University (through alternative programs) or directly into Employment.

Year 11
In Units 1 & 2, knowledge and employability skills development leads to independent learning, confidence and a high level of transferable skills.
Students are introduced to large scale community projects and supported in their organisation and running.
Year 12
In Units 3 & 4, knowledge and employability skills development leads to a high level of interpersonal skills, independent action and achievement of tasks that require decision-making and leadership.
Projects become more student led and focus on building towards a final celebration of work done across the two years of study.
VCE:VM - Standard
Students study 16 - 20 units over two (2) years.
Students enrol in a VET (Vocational Education & Training) course at Certificate II or III level.
Standards based assessments, no external examinations, no ATAR - students will be required to sit the GAT (General Achievement Test) at MEC.
Structured Workplace Learning can be included in the VCE-VM program.
VCE:VM - New
From 2025 two VCE:VM subjects can be included into the studies of any student undertaking the VCE:
VCE:VM Personal Development Skills
VCE:VM Work Related Skills
While these Units can contribute towards a students' total amount of completed Units, they do not attract a study score, and therefore cannot contribute towards a students' ATAR
A Typical Week in VCE VM
Students completing VCE-VM have classes spread across all 5 days of the week.
Most VET programs take place on either a Wednesday or Friday. The senior timetable has been designed so that students undertaking a VET miss the smallest amount of at-school learning time as possible.
Structured Workplace Learning can be a component of the program and can be organised in different ways, but all require the approval of the College before they can be commenced.
Students are responsible for finding their own Work Placement, but the College will help where possible.
